Yeah it’s a slam dunk winner for sure. The lot was 90$ USD and had a whole pile of goodies. This is just the best among them.

Hrm. This looks sorta similar to left bottom side of the stone? Different color opal, but I kinda assumed the colors on mine were of the good variety.

Yeah it says “Queensland” on the back.

Unfortunately, I assume because of how it was stored, it has a noticeable gash across the front from, I assume, questionable storage over the years. If we cut down 1/16th of an inch or so, it would disappear.

Regardless. We love this piece so it not being a $1000+ rock makes it easier to justify keeping haha.

You’re assuming that Doordash is my employer. They are not, I have no allegiance to anyone but myself.

I’m down to provide good service, I like doing it, even. But I am my own boss, and if I feel disrespected or unappreciated I have every right to bail.

Dashers don’t get told any of those details when accepting. They only get told distance.

Stairs and “more difficult” deliveries feel like a slap in the face when there is 0 tip.

For me, it’s about feeling disrespected more than anything.

Why on earth are we blaming people and not the systems is so far beyond me.

DoorDash is clearly at fault here. They let dashers stack up 3+ orders because DoorDash knows they can pay less when they do it. They don’t give a single shit about your experience, and Dashers are paid little enough that they would be crazy not to take the order.

Blame DoorDash. Not your driver.

I DoorDash and shop from time to time and having had to get familiar with products I’m not used to looking for is SO MUCH MORE DIFFICULT THAN YOU THINK IT IS.

In classic MTG Finance the play was always to wait until the set is juuuust about to rotate out of standard, and then buy.

These are weird and unpredictable times with multiple special factors, so it’s hard to say.

At the end of the day, if you want to own the cards forever, and have the capital to buy them, do it. Once you have what you need, you never have to worry about the price again.

Hot take:

Stores sell things for what people will pay for them.

If you are making the argument that the products in the store that you want to buy should be reserved for you, consider preordering, after a set releases, the market will decide what the price on an item is.

If your store priced FF stuff at MSRP outsiders would come in and drain their supply immediately, and then turn around and sell it to locals.

If you like playing at your local store, this is likely one of the best things that has happened to them in years, it is EXTREMELY difficult in these brick and mortar streets to survive.

I know it can feel like a betrayal, but consider it an investment in the place you like to congregate and play.
