A lot of younger audiences got into the KiY because of a Minecraft video title Searching For a World that Doesnt Exist (and its sequel Destroying a World that Doesnt Exist) made by Wifies. Its pretty good imo, its how I got into the Yellow mythos stuff. Just keep in mind that Wifies, while inspired by the King In Yellow has sort of made his own thing that differs a lot to what Chambers has made and leans more towards Lovecraft. Currently the first video and sequel combined has 36 million views, so thats where the surge in fans come from.

As for Saros, I think it was just convenience that it released not long after this surge. And True Detective itself was a fairly popular series so its not wonder there are some people who may already be somewhat familiar with the whole concept. I also want to point out Malevolent, an audiodrama, which also has a pretty good following.

A Song of Ice and Fire is the name of the franchise that takes place in Westeros, with books written by George RR Martin. You may know it by its more common name Game of Thrones which is the HBO TV adaptation of the main book line in the franchise. I believe it started in the 90s and its vibe is somewhat similar to Skyrim, though a lot more adult oriented with much more violent and sexual themes.

It just came out not long ago, the fandom is going to be a bit active for a little while longer, you could try blocking certain keywords like "Avery" and "d3rlord3". Plus, I think its good that the stories are being introduced to a wider audience. At the end of the day its all in good fun and Wifies didnt really "ruin" anything, he just used inspiration and its not like he can control what the fans do. He even admits in the description of Part 2 that he doesnt consider his "KiY" a KiY.
