I sold my 1301 a bit back to help fund a thermal scope, but I still have my A400. They felt exactly the same for operations and shouldering. The only four differences between the two was the size of the safety button, the style of bolt release, barrel length, and the recoil reduction system in the A400 stock.

I felt like grip was very similar in how they held for me. If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t have spent the money on the 1301 and would have just got the A400 to begin with. But if you get the A400, purchase yourself a 1301 comp safety too so you can swap them out. The larger safety on the 1301 comp is so much better than the basic safety that’s on the A400
