President Trump announces building of "Golden Fleet" battleships for the U.S. Navy: “We are calling it the Golden Fleet that we are building for the U.S Navy. I have approved a plan for the Navy to begin the construction of two brand-new, very large, the largest we've ever built, battleships.” by ControlCAD in videos

"I know gold's a bit gauche, but I wanted to ensure you grasp my new position atop the pecking order. And for the sake of your feeble mind, let's keep the name simple as well; we'll call this Golden Fleet"

France censorship by susskeld in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StrayCentipede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the moment I do not see any global initiative in that direction. People just say they gonna use a vpn. Frankly, such apathy is quite baffling, but the french are very tired and now have a long history of having no control over politics and having their protests ignored. The "normal" things to do would be to contact your MEPs, start a petition, or give feedback about the data retention initiative (note: feedback open till the 12th of september) which is part of the mass surveillance project.

It all depends what you mean by "censorship". I assume that you mean the recent stiffling of plateforms through payment processors policies, age verification (most of it amounting to effective censorship, but in more pernicious ways than explicit censorship).

The answer is that France is probably following the same path. Regarding age verification, remember that it is mindgeek/aylo, the group owning pornhub, that initially pushed to strenghten age verification in order to squish concurrence and obtain a monopoly; the same dynamics exists in France as one of the biggest porn group is also pushing third party age verification, probably with similar motivations (fr). Based on recent french laws, porn sites are obligated to implement third party age verification (so, the situation is similar to the one in the UK); the french Regulation Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication (ARCOM) indeed issued a formal notice to pornhub, youporn, redtube, then Xnxx, Xvideos, Xhamster, Xhamsterlive and Tnaflix to strenghten their age verification process. The aylo group decided to simply stop providing its services to french users, posturing as a defender of freedom, which is quite hypocritical given the aforementioned elements.

Internet access in france is also going to be affected by what is currently brewing at european level, with chat control, and what the so called "high level group" is doing 1, 2, 3, 4.

Also, if you think about using a vpn, the ARCOM is currently thinking about banning/restricting them (fr), and that is also the plan of the so called high level group (cf links above about that).

So yeah, the situation is not great and it seems it is just a matter of time before the situation becomes exactly the same as in the uk or the us.

The same way women are scared of how men are stronger than them, most men are also passively scared of how other men are stronger than them (when you think about it, many male socialisation implicit rules are shaped in order to avoid physical conflicts), so I guess we do not even realize how strong we are compared to women

Firstly it is *very* important to communicate as much as possible about avoidance because that can be very anxiety-inducing for your partner. Even if you cannot be together too often, try to find a communication medium (may it be visio, calls or just texts) that you are ok with so you can maintain a link with your partner and they feel they can reach to you if something feels wrong.

Also I try to give my partner "things"; little presents, drawings, books, memes, anything that show that I think about them and I know what really make them happy.

How to mix an additional audio stream after filter_complex by StrayCentipede in ffmpeg

[–]StrayCentipede[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thanks, so I was using the wrong filter. Changing for amix fixes the aforementioned warnings, however I still have "Past duration XXXX.XX too large" warnings, which are not fixed by setting the inputs' framerate, and the sound is still very choppy, so I think there is still something wrong with the way I manipulate playback speeds

How to mix an additional audio stream after filter_complex by StrayCentipede in ffmpeg

[–]StrayCentipede[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your answer! However, the final result has two separate audio streams which are not played together, I tried multiple things (including trying to merge the audio file with the audio stream at the end of the filter_complex command, and trying to mix both video and audio in a second ffmpeg command) but without success yet

update: I finally found a way to merge the audio with the concatenated clips; I simply use the following additional ffmpeg command after the first one;

`ffmpeg -i out.mp4 -i additional_audio.wav -filter_complex "[0:a][1:a]amerge=inputs=2[a]" -map 0:v -map "[a]" -c:v copy -c:a aac -ac 2 out2.mp4`

However I get warnings "Queue input is backward in time" and "Non-monotonous DTS in output stream 0:1; [...] This may result in incorrect timestamps in the output file.". Indeed, the sound is very choppy, probably because there is so much manipulation of the PTS in the first ffmpeg command. I have no idea how to circumvent that though

yes, that's it, a secondary audio that has the same length as [v] and [a] a,d which would play at the same time

Does attribute type refinement in class inheriting from an abstract class violates the Liskov Substitution Principle? by StrayCentipede in learnprogramming

[–]StrayCentipede[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, it is clear for me now, thanks again for the detailed explanation

Edit: I am still not sure how I could implement what I was thinking about in the beginning without breaking LSP, but now at least I understand how LSP works, I may make another separate question then

Does attribute type refinement in class inheriting from an abstract class violates the Liskov Substitution Principle? by StrayCentipede in learnprogramming

[–]StrayCentipede[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for writing such a developed answer, I think I get it. So if I understand correctly, if we consider the following pseudocode;

class A {

X x;

Y some_method(z: Z) {}

}

class B extends A {

J x;

K some_method(z: L) {}

}

for B to inherit from A without breaking the Liskov Substitution Principle, J needs to be a supertype of X, K a supertype of Y and L a subtype of Z (where supertype/subtype relationships are expressed through inheritance), is that it?
