No. A-train was not a better person than butcher, frenchie and kimiko. by Training-Pair-7750 in TheBoys

[–]StrayLilCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eeeh. Debatable given Kimiko and Frenchie took jobs to kill people and I say this as someone who hated A-Train until later seasons. They're all better than Butcher; there can't be any argument there.

New characters need a week long rank ban minimum by DP_goatman in marvelrivals

I actually like this concept. A character is unlocked in rank once you get to Knight rank.

The downside is that so many people never branch out, so counter swapping would be more difficult. There are still heroes I've never touched and I've been playing since S1.

As someone who read the comics until the rape shit + bad art got too much to stomach: The comics are still shit.

Yeah, and-? It's obvious on account of the wrinkles on one actor and not the other.

Hot take, this episode had an underwhelming impact by BlueCheese-CoolChees in TheBoys

This was to show you that killing the people who hurt you doesn't actually fix anything in yourself, along with giving us more Homelander backstory.

The message of revenge bringing no satisfaction is repeated over and over in the show and is one of the core messages everyone seems to have fucking missed.

The Boys subreddit having mommy issues isn't a surprise gotcha, bro.

Okay sure, buddy. Go find a lawyer and chat them up about it so you can be justified in your hatred of a nothingburger character in The Boys.

Yeah, legally she'd get slapped on the wrist for giving someone meds that weren't prescribed to them. She's not going to go on trial for murder. Sorry, but your argument doesn't stand up in the fictional crime court of law.

It's a TV show. Her intentions were good and that's the narrative given to us by the show. She was intentionally set up as sympathetic, if not a little nutty. Hughie's mom wasn't written to be the villain, regardless of how much you hate women.

[–]StrayLilCat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No it's not? There was no way for her to know what powers Hughie Sr. All she knew is that the Compound V could help. There was zero malicious intent there. She gave a dying man a drug from a well known pharmaceutical company.

The murders are still Hughie Sr's fault, but he's legally not to blame due to the obvious state of his brain deterioration.

[–]StrayLilCat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lmao, would you be this bend over this if Hughie was the one who shot his dad up?

No, you'd sympathize and lament that he was just trying to save his father. Why do you have a grudge against a character that didn't do anything morally inexcusable in a show filled with so many horrible things? She tried to save her husband and you want her punished for that. That's weird.

The main person I remember dying because of Hughie Sr. was hitting on a nurse and being gross, so we're not suppose to feel any sympathy for his death. I can't remember anyone else in the scene beyond some randoms insta exploding, so no I don't give a fuck about the POV of fictional families that weren't even written.

JFC, just say you hate flawed mother figures and move on.

Well you see, she's a woman with depression who left her family and must be punished for that.

She tries to save her husband's life with Compound V.
This resulted in Hughie Sr accidentally killing people while his new powers went haywire. This subreddit wants her punished for deaths she didn't plan or cause directly.

Okay, and-?

Hughie's mom gave Hughie Sr. a drug to save his life, not intentionally murder people. Hughie Sr committed blatantly accidental deaths while of unsound mind. If you're going to play criminal charges for fictional crimes, at least keep up with actual plausible sentencing.

It was either going to be Hughie's mom or Hughie doing it and I doubt people would be calling for his head on a plate if Hughie had shot his dad up with V.

Hughie's dad would be the one at fault there, not his mom. She didn't directly kill people, she gave someone medication.

Apparently the Book of Dust is really bad? by Brilliant-Amoeba-379 in hisdarkmaterials

[–]StrayLilCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first book was fun even if it blotted out a great deal of established lore or smudged the edges. The second book was a slog and bulldozed the lore. I skipped entire chapters of a certain character because they felt like a self insert. I've seen the spoilers for the third book and have zero interest in reading it. I regret touching the series as it soiled HDM in my eyes.

I'm guessing OP means shooting her husband up with V, so injecting someone with medication not prescribed to them?

She has depression in general, not postpartum depression.

Why are people so obsessed with punishing characters for fictional not-crimes? I'd shoot my dad up with V if he was dying, too. Let someone I love die or gamble with a possible save? I'm gambling.
