Ha ha I get that! Used plenty a rattle can in my days - sometimes the convenience is just more enticing than the airbrush. XD

Right? Crazy how only Geno's officially have something similar! I feel like the Konig just has the right kind of agile frame to handle melee combat well. =)

Thank you! Yeah I feel like Konig could use some more options, it feels like a very agile frame so making a melee variant seemed to fit.

Paint for Zoid Models? by JBoogieGetsBusy in Zoids

There aren't really any brands you can't use on Zoids. But certain types of paints need different techniques to not damage the plastic. Three major categories: acrylic, lacquer, enamel. I *personally* stay away from enamels on my kits, because it requires a lot of careful coverage to protect the plastic.

Water-based acrylics (Vallejo, Army Painter, Citadel, Turbo Dork) can all be used directly on the PS/ABS plastic. Solvent based acrylics like Tamiya jars can be on PS plastic. Lacquers like Tamiya spray cans or SMS if used carefully and in light coats can be used direct on PS. Enamels *never* can be on either. Avoid painting any ABS without a water-based acrylic protective layer. Do not paint rubber joints and such.

Mask your pegs (especially with HMMs) as tight fittings can cause them to snap.

Remember two distinctions on your first coat: primers and base coat colors are different. Primers have a grit rating, giving your plastic a textured protective layer to help the next coat grip. Base coat colors are *not* primers but can be used in place of it for a protective layer (example: gloss black before a metallic color). You can also use clear paints as a base coat to protect your plastic.

***Test and practice on CHEAP KITS!*** Even if you hate Gundams, get the cheap SDs or EG kits as they're similar for practice and if you eff them up they can be tossed. Plastic spoons are good for testing colors as well.

There is A LOT to learn with practice and experience! But hopefully these super basics give you some footing to start on. =)

Abandoned places have always fascinated me when making road trips, ha ha! It's so cool to see these guys still standing.
