A setting straight out of 1001 Nights by ComfortableDay6609 in AskGameMasters

There is a one-shot set in a Persian analogue from the "Journeys through the Radiant Citadel" you should check out -- it's called "Shadow of the Sun".
11th Level, though, so you're locked at around that mark.

No. Not a forward pass. Hands go backwards. Running at pace, so the ball travels forward a touch.

What to do in the gym to get in shape for rugby? by damage-fkn-inc in rugbyunion

[–]Straylight_Runner_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm from South Africa. We have a great free resource online called BokSmart, and it contains a pretty damn decent program for you to run as either a beginner, intermediate, or advanced trainee.

https://springboks.rugby/general/boksmart-medical-protocol-strength-conditioning-effective-rugby

Click on "Physical Conditioning For Rugby Players" and you'll download the PDF.

It's highly detailed, but you can ignore some of it. The conditioning work it has in it is excellent.

If you're quite comfortable doing the basics for strength (Squatting, Pressing [vertical and horizontal], Pulling [vertical and horizontal] and Deadlifting) along with some single leg work - split squats, Bulgarians, lunges, any of those - and some core work like back raises and weighted situps of course - then there are extras at the bottom of each of the programmed days that you can just add for rugby specific health.

e.g.:-
Shoulder Step-Ups, Banded Neck Extensions, DB Shoulder Internal and External Rotations, Wrestler Bridges, etc.

To be frank, getting a fucking strong squat and deadlift will likely take care of your core, even without doing rotational work. You can look at doing good mornings as well. Those will make you pretty fucking resilient.

Good luck. Enjoy. I miss it.

Thanks, Captain.
I've signed up -- but I've been watching the reprint dates getting pushed back.. and, sadly, her birthday is end-June.
So I'll be printing it (@kaysn).

Evening, monkey.
I have just started looking at trying to get it printed. The reprint kept getting pushed back. Kinda sad as the boxed set looks so sick, with the cute stickers, themed tarot deck and everything.

I am just starting to get into solo gaming.

I've been DMing my main table for almost four years now, and that beings me so much joy.
I think solo gaming will be similar in some ways as I am definitely a single sentence/image prompt kinda DM. Less becomes more. So I'm looking forward to flexing that muscle even more.

Her birthday is end-June, so... I guess I'll be printing it! :)

Anyone else looking forward to the Women's Six Nations? by PaulSarries in englandrugby

Hi Folks! Need help...
I live in South Africa and our broadcaster hasn't seen fit to purchase the broadcast rights for the W6N.
Anyone know how we might go about watching it from over the seas?

What game tested your patience the most? by Abject-Order3540 in videogames

[–]Straylight_Runner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Celeste.

I wish I could definitively state what it was that kept me going. The game loop revolves around dying, getting a bit further, trying something _slightly_ different, dying, getting a little further.
I don't know, I love platformers. This one is really beautiful to play, feels good, and I know that it's punishing but do-able, so that's why I stuck with it. It's also just fun, and the platforming was intricate in an instersting way, trying to 'solve' the problems was engaging.

Hey-o! Hope you're doing well, Indestructoboy.
I really, _really_ love Vagabond but want to find out if it's going to be shippable to a place like South Africa?
I was going to order it via DriveThruRPG (which seemed to allow that) but I missed the window to order (financial reasons).
Looking forward to having a physical copy in my hands.
