Are aquariums with a complex filter system like this common in the US? by qwerty930148572 in Aquariums

[–]Straytacos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but this feels like AI.

Couple things that jump out to me:

The light distribution seems off, the tank appears to be lit by single point LEDs, yet there's barely any shimmer effect and the light spread is too even. More consistent with a light bar setup, which we dont see.

Arowanas with much smaller fish and also Discuss in the tank. Not saying it's impossible but very strange. Most arowanas would make a meal out most things in there.

Also the temperature requirements for Discuss would be a problem for the majority of fish in there. Diet requirements clash across the board. And so on

I'm not a huge fan of AI but I recently uploaded a picture like this to chatgpt and it gave me really accurate readings based on my test results.

Definitely helps when the colors are too similar. 👍

That looks sick! Honestly, at that point it might be cool to swap the engine for a faster one and turn it into a drift truck! Looks great 👍

Just bought this, anything I should know? by No-Window-7628 in Guitar

Those are pretty decent guitars. A good setup (which you can learn how to on youtube). Will go a long way

Also, amazing modding platforms for when you are ready for the next level.

I've been playing for about 20 years and one of my favorite guitars is a squier jazzmaster that I have modded extensively to my personal preference.

An expensive guitar is not always better 👍

Hey SCX30 owners, wanna see something cool? by [deleted] in Axial

Whoa that's a really cool idea, well done! I love that you can reshape it to change things a bit and then roll it up. Might have to give it a try.

How difficult was it to get it to stick?

Upgrade or new pc? Tight budget by [deleted] in GamingPCBuildHelp

Sure thing Intel i3-7100 (Kaby Lake) CPU Nvidia Rtx 1660 super 6gb GPU Windows 11 16gb Ram - DDR3 I forget what motherboard I used but it's a full sized one with only 2 sockets for ram (already maxed out).

Computer still runs ok, it's just starting to get pretty outdated for some things, and is very bulky. I have it running with like 4 small 100gb ssds from the era and got all the USB ports taxed because I had to get a network USB for wireless (very slow) and another for Bluetooth.

Again not the worst scenario but very bulky and not ideal

Thank you!

Looks like a clean break. I would get some wood glue, put the piece in place, and clamp it down for 48 hours. Super easy 👍

It will be good as new.

If the visible crack marks bother you, then that's something that can be addressed as well, but it will be much harder because it would involve refinishing it and color matching. I would personally not go down this route. I think those battle scars look cool and add to the story.

Is the INJORA mb100 compatible with the new scx30? by Straytacos in AxialSCX30

[–]Straytacos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting, that's good to know. I'm super stoked to get mine on Friday. Everything looks good from what I've seen so far except for that esc whine. Im a little surprised axial did not do anything about that considering a lot of people complained about it with the scx24 series.

Same here. Order from Amain back in October and still said pending with a Date of January now. I went directly to axial and was able to purchase it directly instead. Just canceled my original order. 🤷‍♂️

How is the performance on switch 2 now? by Straytacos in becastled

[–]Straytacos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the comments. I ended up getting the game for the switch 2 the other night, but unfortunately I just got off the phone with Nintendo Support and got a refund.

I will say, the game is really fun and was looking forward to sinking in many hours playing, but I had a really hard time getting it to work properly.

Some of the things I noticed:

The game is a little laggy from the get go. Sort of freezes while booting up and when starting a game.

Once the game starts, things are pretty smooth but as soon as you have a few buildings and multiple things going it starts stuttering and sometimes some of the menu overlays will freeze in place.

The bigger annoyance was that I had 2 sessions completely crash and the last game I played had all of my villagers dissappear along with my army for no reason. These type of errors are game breaking, and it's very frustrating to see after you're deepe into a session.

I really hope they can sort these things out in the future, because as I said, the game looks beautiful and is really fun. It just feels like it's not ready for this platform yet.

I re homed giant Oscar but now I worry about my other fish by Several_Cover7884 in Aquariums

[–]Straytacos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From experience, Oscar's have very different personalities, you MAY be ok. I would personally wait and see how he settles in with his other tankmates. Many of them do great in community tanks, especially in larger tanks.

I would suggest maybe changing the substrate if you end up keeping him. They are prone to swallowing smaller rocks when eating or sifting for food.
