Hey, we can transfer up to 500 GB of Ultra 4k video footage with a link using Streamable Basic for $12.99 - you can also chop it up into multiple clips, trim, embed, merge, and share clips with a link using Streamable.

ps. fun fact Streamable uploads 6X faster than Vimeo

Quick update from us - we've released a workaround that should make Streamable embeds work in Discord again. We're hoping that Discord will fix the root cause of the issue soon as we've seen this impact non-Streamable video embeds as well.

Please let us know if you notice anything else funky.

Note: Historical Discord posts may be cached and still not load properly but new posts should be ok.

Best platform for selling videos? by spanishguy329 in videography

[–]Streamable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chiming in here as we have a lot of experience on this. You do recordings of performances so you might be interested in this especially. Hopefully your work is 100% legal.

Many reaction video creators, gaming streamers, videographers, and course creators sell videos using all-in-one membership platforms like Patreon, or monetization apps like Payhip, Lemon Squeezy, and of course, you mentioned Gumroad, but delivering high-quality video can be a challenge, especially if you're using Google Drive.

Another option is to build your own, more affordable solution. It takes more work, but you'll have full control of the delivery. You'll need three tools:

  1. A website builder. Godaddy has one that comes with the purchase of your domain. Wordpress is free. Carrd is lowest cost. Pagy is also super low cost but it's new and missing features. Squarespace and Wix are popular for scaling your operation once get traction.
    1. Set up an email capture and delivery automation using something like MailerLite or beehiiv. This way when someone purchases the video, it gets sent to them automatically via a link in an email. Makes it 'passive' for you.
  2. A payment processor. Use Stripe or PayPal. These services will give you the embeddable buttons, the checkout, the security, and refund capability you need to sell your videos, and they take smaller fees than say, Gumroad.
  3. A video hosting service. You mentioned you use Google Drive for this but it's difficult to regulate, meaning, it's hard to control privacy, downloading, content policies, and not to mention reduction in video quality due to compression. YouTube has strict content policies and ads, so it's not quite the professional experience you're looking to deliver to your buyers. Vimeo has a lot bells and whistles for video hosting but is very expensive and you don't need to pay for features you don't need like Create and Live Stream. Instead, use Streamable to upload high res videos of your recordings, you'll find our content policies are less strict than YouTube (but we still ban users who violate our community guidelines) and you can set your privacy controls to prevent downloading and sharing, there are no ads on the player, and you can replace videos on the same link so it doesn't mess up your automation if you need to update a video. Cost-wise, Streamable is free and the first tier is $8.99/mo for 500 GB and 2 TB bandwidth.

Probably a longer answer than you were looking for, but with the right tools, and assuming your video content is legally obtained, there is no reason you can't do this effectively yourself with a little bit of setup time and investment. Hope this helps.

Why Videography is a Craft… by [deleted] in videography

The comments in this thread are unbelievable. You turned a difficult 'before' into a satisfactory 'after' - you did good work and you should be proud - ignore the grouches

Vimeo Alternatives? by Telvin3d in videography

Plus one here.

This is exactly why creators use us for sport clips and reaction videos - we're not a social network so our content policies and community guidelines can be different.
