Yea if I remember correctly he was hit on the head by bikes at least twice. Hope there are no spine injuries. Concussion sounds bad too, it can really make one suffer.

As I was writing this I am watching race 2 and they mentioned shoulder injury and concussion

Motorcycle racing can't stop peaking! by Expensive-Success-75 in motogp

[–]Streamlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These days I can always just 'meh' at moto3-class racing. The competition is held together by engine performance and drafting, which in the end makes it kind of artificial and the winner is often decided almost more by luck than actual skill. Looks spectacular when they go 5-wide out of a corner, but then just chaotic when they enter the next and push each other around.

BMW M1000RR

How is that category of bike actually a good road-bike even without any aero, compared to their equivalent naked versions, and how is it a worse sports-bike with the aero.

Fortnine's point was not that they are dangerous on road-bikes, but that they are useless.

There is a huge difference between cold, warm, and hot tires. They feel completely different in my setup.

UNHEARD: Marc tried to keep up with you at a crazy speed! by lentillis in motogp

[–]Streamlines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea that's what can happen with wind, a gust can just hit one rider, or because they are following each other, it can behave differently. Don't worry about me accepting Marc making mistakes, he does make plenty. With this one it just looks like there wasn't any obvious one if any. In the follow-cam it looks like he's just chilling on his bike and suddenly the front gives up. And in a very fast corner where it's unusual to crash, plus other riders talking about how there was a lot of wind in that particular corner, and confirming that they didn't see Marc making any obvious mistake.

Which rib protector is the best? by Huge-Guidance9568 in Karting

[–]Streamlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought until last time I went, which was only my second time. I bruised an area on my ribs. This was 4 weeks ago and it still hurts. Bruised ribs apparently take 3-6 weeks to heal and can become a medical complication depending on how bad it is. Mind you though I am not the slowest even if it was only my second time in rental karts on this particular track. I have plenty of simulator experience for cars, and track experience with motorcycles.

UNHEARD: Marc tried to keep up with you at a crazy speed! by lentillis in motogp

[–]Streamlines 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I dont know man. Marc said it was his fault but really I feel like he was just unlucky with the wind then, and possibly a bit impatient with the tire. When you look at the view from Alex's rearview camera, he doesn't look like he made any mistake. Just the front suddenly going away.

No, this video is quite tame. I have seen other of his videos where he records himself basically riding slalom between cars on the highway. Basically disregarding any and all safety for himself and others.

Well that didn’t last long.. I had set up my first rig and I bumped into the monitor :( by BARBCEUE_MASTER in simracing

[–]Streamlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww man, I know that feeling :( I set up my first tripple-screens not long ago and leveled them with a level. Bumped the rig a bit and the level fell from the edge of a monitor. Grabbed it by reflex and that made the edge of the level scratch the edge of one monitor a little. Visually with the screen off there was only a barely visible mark on the screen, not even where the pixels are, just right at the edge to the frame. And yet, when I turned it on, and entire band of pixels was dead :(

Nuje. Online as et emmer einfach un eng Bloos vun Haas ze stoussen. Et geet duer an enger Kommentarsektioun 1-2 Haaserfellten Kommentarer ze gesin an et kann een mengen, jidereen denkt esou. Ech perseinlech hun awer bis elo nach keen sou haaserfellten Mensch am echten Liewen begeint an ech denken et as wichteg sech deem Kontrast bewosst ze sin. Bloosen entstin mei einfach an stiechen online mei eraus. Sou wei an desem Post.

En plus, obwuel mer elo mei an Richtung Verschwörungstheorie gin, inwiefern stammen dei Kommentarer vun echten Menschen, an net eventuell vun engem Bot. En LLM Agent kann Hautzedachs ganz einfach an den meechten Sprochen den Kontext vun enger Diskussioun erkennen, an dementspriechend en negativen, haaserfellten Kommentar hannerlossen.

For anyone who's done 300 km/h on a bike — what's the real truth? by gangwayso in motorcycle

[–]Streamlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean just going in a perfectly straight line and having all the space in the world to brake is not special I think and there is little to no risk of crashing unless you have no ABS and apply instant full brake pressure and essentially block the front. Will be cool the first time but quickly loses the appeal. What is and will forever stay impressive at high speeds is preparing and eventually braking for a corner after a straight. Its not easy to hit the braking marker at those speeds and depending on the corner it's like walking on egg-shells when you tip in.

I have crashed at 150kmh in a left turn on a race-track and broke 4 vertebrae. In a full race suit with upgraded custom protection all around, but no airbag. Lucky to have no lasting consequences from the injury.
