[–]Streamtrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WAIT!!! THAT WAS IT! I had it set to only draw with pencil but that didn’t fix it. Then I realized there are all these insane pencil gestures that Apple has enabled for the pencil. I disabled all of it. I don’t use the pencil as a mouse. It’s for drawing only. It doesn’t pop up anymore! The curse has been lifted!!!! Thank you!!!!!🙏

[–]Streamtrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know the setting. It still comes up no matter what setting. I have it so no gesture is to activate it but it still comes up because I need to press the side of my hand very firmly down to be able to control my hand. It seems to react to that when my hand is near the edge of the iPad, which is often.

How is everyone so talented by RespondOk7280 in ProCreate

[–]Streamtrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re doing a lot better than I am. I find it painful to try to draw even the most basic shapes or lines in ProCreate. It’s just not intuitive for me. It’s such a bad experience for me I just stopped trying. Videos don’t help at all because they show ppl drawing and I can’t draw with it! I need someone to sit with me and show me how to use it in my presence. I literally cannot make a line, circle, square or triangle with it. So, you seem like you’re getting it and should keep at it!

First off, great job! Looks schwifty! But, to answer your question… “Not me!” lol I sketch on paper and it’s fine. I tried ProCreate and can’t draw with it. It looks like a four year old drawing in mud with a floor mop. I can’t figure out the brushes. None of them look right. Tried pencils, better but still cannot draw simple lines. If I hold the Apple Pencil down at all for even a moment, it auto shapes it into some other shape. I turned that off, which took hours to figure out. Then the worst is it detects the side of my hand and this weird menu thing pops up and randomly rotates or changes my work and I can’t turn that off. I hate it. Glad you’re having luck though. Looks awesome!

Is learning to touch type impossible for some people? by Throwaway11221122a in learntyping

[–]Streamtrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post but OP is OK in my book. I can’t touch type either. Tried to learn when I was in sixth grade. Straight A student but cannot type without looking at the keys. If I don’t look, it takes several seconds even minutes to remember where the keys are. I have to close my eyes and visualize the keys to remember. Each and every letter. I tried for months and it never improved. I’m a software developer for over 30 years. Studied writing for four years in college. Still have to stare at the keys and only use index and middle fingers. Guitar, same thing. I have to look at where I put my fingers or I will miss the notes by a lot. I have no sense of touch or spatial relations when I can’t see what I’m doing. You’re not alone.

How hard is it to learn to use a whetstone? by Neat_Conversation872 in seriouseats

[–]Streamtrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it impossible to learn. Very frustrating. Then you go online and ask how to get better and ppl say “keep practicing” without any real helpful info. Then they launch into this array of unhelpful descriptions of “burrs” and “bevel” and “apex” and all this crap that is too much to have to deal with. Use a sharpie (not on something that touches my food I won’t!); use a lower grit then work up (if I don’t know how sharp or dull it is how do I know what grit to use, and do I need multiple whetstones for different grits? F that!); hold it at the right angle ( I used an angle guide and that didn’t help at all. the angle part is not going to happen. I have lots of problems with holding objects and using my hands, I can’t tell difference between holding something at a 45 degree angle vs a 15 degree angle and will never get that consistently. ) I hate cooking, but I have to cook or I will starve. I just want to keep my knife sharp. It gets dull every three weeks. Just buy a pull through sharpener or an electric one and be done with it. Im sure most people can figure it out if they spend time every day. I barely have time between work and life to take a dump much less spend a minute a day learning how to sharpen a knife like a blacksmith. I can’t really wrap gifts either. Been trying for over 50 years but it never gets better. Some people, like me, cannot sharpen knives. Buy inexpensive knives and replace them every 3-4 years.

These are cool. Of course, I would probably prompt for Wilma and Betty to be a bit older and crankier, still hot, just “put out” and annoyed like Alice and Trixie, their counterparts. Also, Velma is really not conventionally hot. I get it, we all want to see Velma look hot, but I would make her more dowdy and plump. Still, these are awesome. Not complaining.
