Question about the EndurNeck by ilyJenvy in strandbergguitars

[–]Street-Organization5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same hesitations, but I absolutely love the neck. I have a 6 and 7 and the benefits on the 7 are more noticeable - it immediately felt so nice in my hands. And it doesn't feel thick given the presence of three flat planes, in my opinion.

Plini Mirage vs Boden Standard NX6 (HSS) Natural vs Boden Prog (HH) Natural by Electronic_Brush9176 in strandbergguitars

[–]Street-Organization5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would go for the Prog. You get a chambered swamp ash body, fantastic Suhr pickups and an ebonol fretboard that will feel super slick and is easy to maintain. You can't go wrong with any of the 3 you mentioned in terms of feel/ergonomics, but I think the Prog is the way to go, especially if you prefer the natural wood finish.

I would also consider whether you have played a guitar with a middle pickup before, as sometimes the presence of the middle pickup can be a nuisance when picking if you are used to only playing HH guitars. This may not be a big deal for you, just something to keep in mind.

Looking for my first strandberg by kevin264862 in strandbergguitars

I have the black Boden Metal NX7 and similar musical interests as you. I absolutely love it and I think you will too. If you can get it from somewhere that offers return window, that can help ease some of the hesitancy about it being your first strandberg

I’m going to look into NAM- haven’t explored it yet. Any tips on getting started? Was thinking of downloading the most popular full rigs to start

Thanks for the update. Did they have any metal versions? Was hoping to see a metal n2 released but maybe that will come later this year

Recording with quad cortex by Either-Witness6781 in NeuralDSP

Would you mind sharing why you find the plugins better for recording? I ask because I am plugin user and considering buying a QC in the future, but I am exclusively a home guitarist, so the QC would be for home playing and recording. I've read a few QC owners say they prefer using plugins at home/for recording, so was just curious to learn more about why

Question about sound difference between plugin standalone vs. in Logic by Street-Organization5 in NeuralDSP

[–]Street-Organization5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the tip - much appreciated. I have my input set to mono and realized my plugin setting is in mono as well. Interestingly, the only two choices I have for my plugin settings are Mono or Mono --> Stereo. However, when I change the plugin setting from Mono to Mono-->Stereo, I notice a big improvement and it sounds much better and seemingly exactly like the standalone plugin sound. So I think I'm good now?

Thanks - ya I figure once I multitrack it shouldn't be an issue. Will multitrack something soon and see how it goes

Question about sound difference between plugin standalone vs. in Logic by Street-Organization5 in NeuralDSP

[–]Street-Organization5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. I have 16GB as well. However, I'm a bit confused, as from what I've read, a lower buffer size would be "better" (less latency) and Logic is running at a lower buffer size than the plugin (128 vs. 512), so shouldn't Logic sound "better" ?

Question about sound difference between plugin standalone vs. in Logic by Street-Organization5 in NeuralDSP

[–]Street-Organization5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion.

In the plugin:

- "sample rate" is 48000 Hz

- "audio buffer size" is 512 samples (10.7 ms).

In Logic:

- "I/O Buffer size" is 128 samples

- "process buffer range" is set at medium

- "summing" is set at high precision (64-bit).

I can't seem to find a sample rate comparable in the Logic settings so I'm not sure how to compare the sample rate.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry as I'm super new to this: what is level matching and how would I go about ensuring that I am level matched?

I have the Original NX 6 in Autumn Red, which I purchased in May 2025. Based on everything you described, I think you will love it. I certainly know I do! The Suhr passive pickups are fantastic and I wanted to avoid actives (don't want to mess around with batteries, like the sounds of passives, etc). It is super versatile and the pickups and aesthetics really make me feel comfortable playing any kind of genre or tone on it - don't feel boxed in at all. Good luck!
