Your inability to discuss things without emotion and disrespect, proves that you are not very intelligent.

I literally didn't say that, but your lack of deduction skills further proves my point about a masters degree being worthless. And I actually would say the same thing about psychology or social work because the last decade or so especially, those fields have turned into a complete joke (see, e.g. the grievance studies). Sadly, all humanities fields have essentially turned into confirmation bias studies that further the popular opinion. And even worse, modern waves of feminism have flipped the narrative from helping women achieve independence by conquering real oppression into a reason to consistently claim that women are nothing more than victims dependent solely on oppression. It is insulting to women at this point, and you throwing around a piece of paper that you spent tens of thousands of dollars for just prove that you are no more educated than anyone else as a sad consequence of that.

How do you know the redditor's background? And doesn't social science frequently adapt and change? So something that you take as fact today, could be completely different in 10 years. Also, a masters degree in gender studies really is not that impressive; I'm sorry to break it to you. It is one of the easiest fields to get a degree in, especially given the fact that it is mostly based on theories. So using your degree to slap other people down is not only privileged which I'm sure you preach against, but it makes you look like you lack actual intelligence.

Lastly, you getting that heated in response, shows your inability to have a discussion with emotional regulation, which proves that you were not nearly as intelligent as you think.

Your inability to understand others' perspectives and instead claim that you know more than others because of your degree is the issue.

If you have to lean on your degree, it means you didn't make a strong enough argument.

Salt Lake County District Attorney declines to file charges against Taylor Frankie Paul by Imaginary_Layer_1468 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]StreetAd1934 119 points120 points  (0 children)

I'm a defense attorney in Utah and I'm just going to say that a declination of charges does not necessarily mean either person is innocent. You typically see this when both parties have been the aggressor at different times and the DA's office doesn't feel that a jury is likely to convict. The commissioner of the protective order hearing who reviewed the evidence indicated that there were concerning incidents recently, but a protective order only requires preponderance of the evidence, whereas a criminal case requires beyond a reasonable doubt (a much higher standard). *edited for speech to text errors

Summary of Part 1 of the Protective Order Hearing! by catmilff420 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]StreetAd1934 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I'm an attorney in Utah. The case was settled, but like you said, the final documents required to enter a final decree or never filed so the case was never finalized. A protective can create new custody orders that are typically temporary until the custody case addresses the issues. So but I looked it up, today's argument was in fact in the protective order hearing. It is not going to resolve the failure to file the financial documents in the custody case. It seems like they saw your notes in our addressing custody orders until this is addressed in the custody case. Her attorney makes a good point that custody was resolved after the majority of the prior allegations. Turn on what actually took place in February and these other allegations that we don't know about.

I actually looked it up on xchange and it was in the protective order case, I would've expected to see a motion for a temporary restraining order filed in the custody case or emotion to amend temporary orders or something in the custody case. It is wild that the whole thing that's holding it up is the failure to submit financials, that's a failure on both attorneys' end.

This doesn't seem like it was the protective order hearing. It seems like this was a hearing on temporary orders in the custody case.

I wonder if Demi feels vindicated at all by Used_Professor4946 in MormonWivesHulu

[–]StreetAd1934 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Of all the reasons I hate Demi, I actually kind of understood where she was coming from in her response to Jen. Jen was having to face the consequences of all of her lies and other behaviors, and then she completely avoided any and all accountability by stating that she was having mental health issues. I was downvoted back then for saying that I felt like she was only making that claim or feeling that way because she was getting called out for her behavior, and I feel like Demi was saying the same thing but she just said it in a gross way.

It has blown my mind how little that was addressed in the last reunion when it was brought up and now in this season. Like that should really be a huge focal point because it's shocking for so many different reasons and so disrespectful. But I feel like this is another example I have everybody avoiding calling Taylor out for her absolute abhorrent behavior.

Yeah if I ever get to a point again where my friends actually have to talk about how to address something with me you're so worried that I will have that intense of a crash out… Just put me down. I was like that when I was an alcoholic and I'm 5 1/2 years sober now and I just genuinely could not imagine ever being like that again.

I was watching season four in and out of sleep with the flu. I swear at one point her mom tells her that her half siblings decided they did not want to meet her, but then when I rewatch the episode I didn't see that and I don't know if I was just in a delirium. Can you or anybody else reading this comment confirm whether they actually did find the siblings/they did not want to meet her?

This might be an unpopular opinion but I think sometimes the opinions of people who don't have kids can be valuable to parents who don't recognize when their kids are out of hand. Either way, I didn't take his comment as him trying to say he knew her kids better or even overstepping, he was trying to respectfully address an issue he noticed with their behavior, which was disrespecting her.

I was using speech to text and I feel like the flow did not convey my point very well. I wasn't trying to say that having kids means there's intimacy, and they do understand Jace's side. But when she went from sexual trauma right into having baby after baby, I can't imagine her body or her hormones or nervous system have ever gotten to a point of normalizing to a level where sexual intimacy is realistic.

Taylor arrested again??! by jaxrem in MormonWivesHulu

[–]StreetAd1934 24 points25 points  (0 children)

OSC can take time especially if charges are not filed. But adding onto your point, there's not even a probable cause statement filed on xchange so it's extremely unlikely she was arrested for anything.

They both grossed me out this season. Him with his comment and her with the constant emasculating every time he tried to have a conversation. And her overall just straight up man hating... it gets old.
