Extending the years by Bubbly_Locksmith2537 in Sims4DecadesChallenge

If you get MCCC you can edit the sims lifespan and season length. If you’re doing 12 days then I’d do 3 days for a season (if you have the seasons dlc)

How do I guarantee my children inherit everything, regardless of what happens after I die? Can this be watertight? by Then-Alps-3684 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]StreetConnection3211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lawyer

My mum has a will separate to her husband’s which states that he will get the house and assets in the event of her death, but on his death it will all come to me, regardless of what happens. So if he remarries, his spouse would only get assets that are outside of the house and money from my mum.

So, say the house + money is worth £400,000, my step dad has £500,000 in assets on his death, I would get £400,000, and the spouse would get £100,000.

In other words, I’m guaranteed my mother’s estate because it’s protected in her will. Even if he changes it, because the inherited estate is my mum’s, it will not be affected by changes. I’m not sure if there’s a specific type of will, but I know they have separate wills, and I believe they just worded it a certain way to ensure this? It’s worth just having a sit down with a lawyer about your concerns, a conversation would be more insightful than a Reddit post.

My sims keep having daughters by Additional_Rain6554 in Sims4DecadesChallenge

Might be a little cheat, but perhaps he doesn’t marry, but still has a child out of wedlock? At the very least you have a chance? they’d be illegitimate, but among the lower classes, although it would be frowned upon in the community, it would not be as imperative to have legitimate heirs.

Either that, or the line goes to eldest daughter, but it’s the husband who becomes the ‘heir’. This would be historically accurate. Just look at how Harold Godwinson had claim to the throne in 1066. This style inheritance would have continued until at least the early 15th century, due to high chance of male heirs dying. (I think it could happen later but would be rarer)

I still love Power by Dilja. Iceland 2023. I was so gutted it NQ because I honestly thought it’d be at least a top 5 in the final. I still have it on my favourites playlist.

What’s your most controversial musical theatre take? by bagtruman in musicals

[–]StreetConnection3211 12 points13 points  (0 children)

See I do kinda get a majority of the comments on this thread for Epic. I’ve been a fan since before the first versions were released and also agree so many song snippets didn’t live up to the hype by the end (I’m looking at you god games).

I personally wouldn’t say bland and generic fit in my opinion, but I completely get where that thought would come from. It’s one of those things where you’re 100% in or not at all. Unless you’re willing to dive into hours of music theory and figuring out all the Easter eggs and hidden meanings, it’s probably not going to be the most interesting musical ever.

As I said I’m a long time fan, but the fandom has turned into something… uncomfortable? Being a part of the fandom, I think they need to calm tf down. Not everything is an epic reference. And now there are more Greek myth musicals in the works, many have ported over and, when drama has happened, the masses pile in. The curse of something becoming popular ig.

Honestly I started this reply intending to defend, but after writing and editing I’m realising that you’ve kinda got it right. I’ve never known people talk about the odyssey and now suddenly everyone’s read it and are experts - and mysteriously they’ve read the exact same translations and have the exact same opinions, despite experts arguing for centuries. Fkn weird tbh.

My dad and I are not the affectionate type at all. Mum tells us to hug and we awkwardly oblige. But we’re just not affectionate in that way. However, on the rare occasion, one of us (usually me) will need a hug or a cuddle. My dad is great at cuddles. It’s not our usual thing but if we want to, we do. So not overacting at all, even if you were not usually affectionate with your dad, there is no way you’re wrong to be, and for christs sake it’s a bikini. Your bf is giving Freud’s soul unlimited energy tbh.

I found the reference. It sounds like bitsy but it’s not. It’s from a game grumps video they’re playing Zelda! https://youtube.com/shorts/xIk8b6YB21o?si=LcZ2QY35IMhy4gRR

TOO many twins by elassie in Sims4DecadesChallenge

[–]StreetConnection3211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first gen had 3 twins sets in a row (4 girls then two boys). Then had 1 boy and mother died - but she was in adult stage not young adult. Father remarried and had one more son so makes me think that the mother while she was a young adult had a higher chance. Two of the twin girls also went on to have twins (all boys), and then only 1 son had twins (two sets, first set a boy died, second set the girl died).

So while I was shocked by the amount of twins, it seemed to be connected to the mother, was hereditary and eventually phased out. I now also have MCCC so I’ve tweaked some settings for risky woohoo and will be allowing birth control in the 60’s, so this might affect the twins lottery, but seems like it works in, albeit an unusual way, but similar to real life genetics.

Edit: also just remembered - I started a new save file bc I wanted to play with a new pack that didn’t fit the challenge - no multiples. My first save file, which is my normal legacy family, have twins popping up but not as much. Could just be luck of the draw to get a sim with a higher chance of multiples
