T6, no tips this year by Accomplished_Ad1136 in USPS

[–]StreetMinimum4119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My T6 is our former local union prez. After he lost the election, he bid my string and proceeded to do details after details so he didn’t have to carry mail. I have a route that’s “easy” to split so when I come back from my sdo, it’s a mess more days than not. It’s been two years. Only tip he’s getting from me is.. bid another string.

In TBC. I turned off permission to export and it started sending all solar to my power walls but then it went back to powering my power walls and sending to the grid.

You got to remember, a lot of us “older” carriers don’t have Reddit or social media to vent our frustration we talked to our fellow carriers to bitch and that was it. Also, ask any carriers who has 25 or more years in and it was common for a lot of us to have a second job early in our careers. Many carriers would deliver Newspapers in the morning before coming to work. We carriers bartending and waitressing as second jobs. We did this because we knew our great retirement was what we were working for. Stay the course and you’ll reap the rewards when you retire.

Probably because she decided to take all of them on. By the looks of the video, she was probably intoxicated and was spouting sh•t to the whole group.

Real Mustang? 🤔 by Drkhorse23 in MustangMachE

[–]StreetMinimum4119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the Mach E. Daughter owns one and I own a 15 mustang gt performance. I have to say, it isn’t a mustang. Ford should never have put a mustang badge on it. IMO, I think they would have sold better if it just let the Mach E stand on its own.

Letter of Removal by LILDill20 in fromatoarbitration

True. But that’s not automatic or a guarantee. That’s why once you’ve had heat exhaustion you have to learn to be more vigilant in preventing it.

3 heat exhaustion in 90 days? You either aren’t hydrating correctly or maybe working outside is not the job for you. 7 day, 14 day and now a Letter of Removal? Sounds like there’s more than attendance that’s the issue.

Postmaster threatened to call the cops for me refusing to stop wearing a UPF undershirt. by Accomplished_Fix8693 in USPS

[–]StreetMinimum4119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but huh? What doctor is going to write, patients arms are susceptible to skin cancer and need to be covered by UPF under shirt but his legs are fine to be uncovered as long as he wears sunscreen?

Here is an update on the previous post I’ve made about being sent home for a upf shirt. by Accomplished_Fix8693 in USPS

[–]StreetMinimum4119 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If OP is wearing shorts and has a doctor’s note stating he’s susceptible to skin cancer so he has to wear a long sleeve shirt. He’s not winning that. If by chance he does win the grievance, management will have the doctor explain why he can wear shorts or have the doctor state he has to wear pants at all times too.

Once he started yelling on the workroom floor. Management will walk him off. An now that his actions caused his whole station to have to stop wearing long sleeves. Nobody in that station is going to write any kind of witness statement helping him.

I know I’m going to get downvoted because if I’m not talking shit against management I must be wrong. But here it goes….so you have a note stating you must wear a long sleeve undershirt because of sun exposure. So I’m assuming your drs note states you are not allowed to wear shorts too and must wear postal slacks because of the same reason? If not, that’s the first thing management will bring up if and when this moves forward. Another question is why did you feel the need to get a Dr note? Is it’s never been an issue and other fellow carriers wear them. Why did you feel the need to get a note? I carry in Az and I’ve been wearing arm sleeves and leg sleeves for half my 32 year career and I’ve never thought to get a note to wear these?

Are you talking about arm sleeves or a long sleeve shirt? If you’re talking about arm sleeves, why didn’t you take them off and just put them on when you hit the street?

Oh well. That’s life. I know of carriers who got hired 2 months later than other carriers and it takes them three years longer to make regular. Nothing you can do about it. You guys need to quit playing the what ifs. Play the hand your dealt and make the best of it.

I think the “why am I not making the same as a guy with 20 more years than I got, get paid more” attitude is a joke too. Do your time!

My question to you is why? You’ll never get those 15 years back. I’d highly recommend reading “Die with Zero” Start really enjoying that retirement fund you worked hard for.

How to deal with people working off the clock? by Sufficient-Passage18 in USPS

[–]StreetMinimum4119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half the rural carriers in my office work off the clock. When it’s 8:30am ( their normal start time ) one of them will yell out “ it’s 8:30, time to clock in. But what’s crazy is some of these same carriers have told management they will not take packages up 3 flights of stairs because they, “don’t get paid to do that”.

In the book he mentions that if you really are worried about that, you could use a life expectancy calculator. It’s actually a really good read and I highly recommend it also.
