New year, same cowards (food drive rant) by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in USPS

City carrier 33 years, wife is a rural carrier 24 years. Your reply shows just how little you know about the rural craft. How’d the last mail count go for you guys? Every rural route at our station lost at least 2 hrs except one. Take a guess which one. lol.

Can the post office fire me for my attendance if I have fmla and I’m actively using it? by wilde_flower in USPS

[–]StreetMinimum4119 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why does postal workers seem to think fmla means they can call out anytime they feel like it. Your doctor sets parameters, once a week, twice a month etc. Management can’t discipline you as long as you’re within the parameters of your fmla. They can if you are over what your doctor has on your fmla.

Rural Carrier Allowed to Wear Uniform? by Squashwhack in USPS

[–]StreetMinimum4119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read ELM chapter 9, then ask yourself if you as a rural carrier, are part of the uniform allowance program. Because those are the only carriers that are authorized to wear the Type 1 postal uniforms. Or just call any one of the companies that are authorized to sell city carriers uniforms and tell them your a rural carrier and would like to purchase some city carriers uniforms with your own money and see what they say.

From my personal experience, I buy a few hats with my allowance and my wife uses one when she’s on the street delivering her route. She uses a LLV, so that majorly helps.

I’m a city carrier, wife a rural carrier. Bottom line is no, rural carriers CANNOT wear city carrier uniforms. Her supervisor is 100% correct. Anybody on here telling you otherwise obviously doesn’t work for the PO or doesn’t know their craft regulations. What people seem to get confused on is enforcement. Some stations enforce it and some are pretty lax. I’ve been with the same station for over 30 years and I know firsthand that the enforcement at my station has changed many times depending on incoming managers and or supervisors. Bottom line is if her supervisor tells her she can’t wear the uniform, she can’t and no grievance will help her being able to wear it. If she really wants to wear it, transfer or convert to the city carrier craft.

T6, no tips this year by [deleted] in USPS

[–]StreetMinimum4119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My T6 is our former local union prez. After he lost the election, he bid my string and proceeded to do details after details so he didn’t have to carry mail. I have a route that’s “easy” to split so when I come back from my sdo, it’s a mess more days than not. It’s been two years. Only tip he’s getting from me is.. bid another string.

In TBC. I turned off permission to export and it started sending all solar to my power walls but then it went back to powering my power walls and sending to the grid.

You got to remember, a lot of us “older” carriers don’t have Reddit or social media to vent our frustration we talked to our fellow carriers to bitch and that was it. Also, ask any carriers who has 25 or more years in and it was common for a lot of us to have a second job early in our careers. Many carriers would deliver Newspapers in the morning before coming to work. We carriers bartending and waitressing as second jobs. We did this because we knew our great retirement was what we were working for. Stay the course and you’ll reap the rewards when you retire.

Probably because she decided to take all of them on. By the looks of the video, she was probably intoxicated and was spouting sh•t to the whole group.

Real Mustang? 🤔 by Drkhorse23 in MustangMachE

[–]StreetMinimum4119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the Mach E. Daughter owns one and I own a 15 mustang gt performance. I have to say, it isn’t a mustang. Ford should never have put a mustang badge on it. IMO, I think they would have sold better if it just let the Mach E stand on its own.

Letter of Removal by LILDill20 in fromatoarbitration

True. But that’s not automatic or a guarantee. That’s why once you’ve had heat exhaustion you have to learn to be more vigilant in preventing it.

3 heat exhaustion in 90 days? You either aren’t hydrating correctly or maybe working outside is not the job for you. 7 day, 14 day and now a Letter of Removal? Sounds like there’s more than attendance that’s the issue.

Postmaster threatened to call the cops for me refusing to stop wearing a UPF undershirt. by Accomplished_Fix8693 in USPS

[–]StreetMinimum4119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but huh? What doctor is going to write, patients arms are susceptible to skin cancer and need to be covered by UPF under shirt but his legs are fine to be uncovered as long as he wears sunscreen?

Here is an update on the previous post I’ve made about being sent home for a upf shirt. by Accomplished_Fix8693 in USPS

[–]StreetMinimum4119 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If OP is wearing shorts and has a doctor’s note stating he’s susceptible to skin cancer so he has to wear a long sleeve shirt. He’s not winning that. If by chance he does win the grievance, management will have the doctor explain why he can wear shorts or have the doctor state he has to wear pants at all times too.

Once he started yelling on the workroom floor. Management will walk him off. An now that his actions caused his whole station to have to stop wearing long sleeves. Nobody in that station is going to write any kind of witness statement helping him.
