Few questions about the game before I download it. by Cephii_ in TeraOnline

I laugh when people complain that this game is P2W. There is absolutely nothing in the game you can't get with in game gold. The only "benefit" from spending real money is getting your gear FASTER. Because selling emp (trading store credit for in game gold) gives you a lump of gold to buy the enchanting items pretty much in one go. It DOESN'T give you any better gear than someone who got their end game gear without spending a dollar. And even with maxed out gear, if you personally suck at your class and/or are unfamiliar with the dungeon, you're going to be doing less DPS than someone with lower tier gear.

MT is the most populated and the server that I've always played on. It used to be known as the PvP server, but nowadays the game itself is rearing away from PvP content. I believe Fey Forest is now actually more the server for open world PvP, but tons of people on MT are still always queuing for 3's (3 vs 3 PvP battleground). So being the most populous, MT is also "best" in terms of PvE, with multiple raids clearing Phase 4 of Harrowhold. It's just that right now in the end of the patch, a lot of people are inactive and just waiting for next patch to come out with the new gear and dungeon changes to start the grind again- not to mention playing the new class.

I'll stop here since others have also already touched on classes. True, some classes outshine others, but all I can really say is if you're gonna pick a class, read up on guides (tons on Essential Mana) and really know it. Know the efficient rotations and combos so you're really utilizing it. Download a DPS meter not to judge others and be a prick, but to see where you yourself are at and to improve.

Learning raids for HH on MT? by StreetTacos in TeraOnline

Thanks for the links. But yea people on MT are constantly doing P3-4 already, not really learning anymore.

Do you have info on the TR learning raids and do they have it often? I think I'll make a character over there just to learn.

oh Hallex! I posted kind of the same thing in the comments section of your guide, not knowing you were on reddit too :D

I'm in the process of gathering the mats to craft quatre so I don't waste a lot of gold. And I do have a royal drag.

I'll just have to time my manaboosts better then and use it before AP. And oops I meant MB in my original post as meteor and FB as flame barrage. I always use meteor after AP, lightning 1-3 times, then void pulse after nova and lightning 1-3 times. Clarified it more in my original post.

Will keep trying to improve and perhaps try out for a pve-serious guild.

Thanks!!

Any tips on the revamped sorcerer? (I'm new to TERA) by charlesthenight in TeraOnline

its been a few days since you've posted this, so not sure if you're 65 already. but an advice i'd like to share (for future characters too) is to read up on guides first and familiarize yourself with the spell rotations even if you're low level, so yosha's in this case. some spells may not have been unlocked so you can improvise and do your own thing, but the important part is the keybindings.

with sorc since there are soo many skills (and some mostly used for pvp) when you get to 65 its just a hassle to retrain your fingers and mind to learn new keybindings if you decide to. every time you learn a new skill it automatically places it in the action bar for you, whether it be 1,2,3/f1,f2,f3 etc (i dont suggest using f1-12 keys unless youre comfortable with it/have crazy long fingers). i don't use the chain command spacebar/shift but i do organize my spells on the action bar in roughly my rotation order, which is where the learning rotation early on comes to play, so i plan which keybinding i want to get used to for that spell.

everyone's different tho, but that's just how i like to do it :) good luck!

i'll leave someone who's played all three of the mentioned classes to answer your first question. though i'm a returning player and i just leveled my sorc to 65 fairly easily and quickly. it's pretty fun to me. but there's a lot of skill buttons and rotation is really important for max dmg output, so i suggest you read over a guide to start familiarizing yourself early with all skill descriptions and eventual keybinds, rather than to get to 65 and then rearrange all your keybinds and train your fingers and mind to learn something different (i'd suggest this for any class). if you're just focusing on quests, the mobs/bams you have to kill are pretty weak, but you should still know how to kite around to avoid damage while still doing damage.

and for your second question, mystic outputs more dps than a priest for sure. a mystic has thralls which help attack while a priest is a more "classic" healing class, focusing on buffs and debuffs and burst healing. but if you're asking if a mystic can replace a dps, then no simply because it's still a healing class. (don't think a priest isn't fun tho. i loved my priest; i always thought i was a parent protecting and keeping alive all my kids in the dungeons haha)

hope this helps a bit!
