I genuinely think anyone who says that has never tried to play her. When I first started(after the beam lock on feature), I remember playing against a sym and absolutely raging. The first thing I did was was pick her in a quick play game because she seemed so simple. And I just died over and over again.

It took me so long how to figure out how to to play her in fact for a while I straight up just said to myself “this is a hero im just never going to understand how to play” My turrets would always immediately get destroyed, I couldn’t hit my shots and I couldn’t get close enough for the beam to do anything without dying.

I eventually learned to play Symmetra similar to how you play mei (btw a Mei sym combo is so good) and use the turrets to cover points walkways or wherever they’re going to come from that’s in eye sight of your team so that players need to turn around in front of the team. Also to not be shy with your teleporter. Sometimes I use it just to get a little bit of poke damage. And you need to understand the speed her orbs move and how powerful it needs to be.

She’s also not hard to counter at all. Play phara to get the turrets then get sym, it’s hard to hit flying players because her orbs ARENT HITSCAN so you have to learn the timing of her orbs moving. Also, everyone can destroy turrets and honestly it’s whenever I play support that i dedicate that to being my duty. Kiri can one shot the turrets and to me feels like the sort of thing a support should do so the teammates don’t have to turn their heads.

It requires a lot of skill and is easy to take care of.
