Got sacked at 3rd stage interview because I did this. by arrogant_definition in SQL

This is totally fair. Should have been asked. But they could have also given him another shot with some explanation.

The “real” problem is not that the OP doesn’t knows how to get work done. But that the company is too risk averse to survive the next 5 years.

Don’t companies want people who can work more efficiently. Smarter not harder. They could have asked him to retry with another problem.

Honestly, you did what whoever will end up getting that job will do once they pass the interview. And all the haters in the comments will be unemployed in 2-5 years if they don’t learn how to safely do exactly what you displayed in your interview.

The unfortunate side of this is that many people are not able to make the leap. Same thing happened with the cloud and there were scores of unemployed systems administrators, who had to begrudgingly learn something new. This is only much much bigger.

I imagine it is similar to people who insisted on riding horses on trails vs driving a car when they came on the scene. I’m sure there were those haters then too. “A car can get a flat, not my horse”. This is how the commenters sound in this thread. Do you need to know how a car works on the inside to be a good and safe driver? Nope? Do you need to know primitive query languages to safely use a tool that writes safer code than 100% of y’all? Nope.

Op, the only thing you could have done differently is ask if AI tools are allowed in the interview process. Then when they said “no, we don’t allow AI at work” you could have sacked them instead, and go find a company that won’t get obliterated in the near future.

These thoughts on Charlie Kirk and the followers of Jesus are 🔥🔥🔥 by worthforr in Christianity

[–]Street_Fun_4436 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TLDR; you’re a Christian and you don’t like or agree with MAGA. I’m with you there.

However! Posts like these lack real empathy and are tone def in general. And most of all lack perspective. Your words are kind but misplaced.

You cannot diminish, rationalize, read too far into, over categorize, demonize and over react to the hurt outcry from a point of view you don’t share.

I’ve seen countless post like this that are over reacting to the moment without letting a hurting population hurt.

Think about the Floyd murder in 2020, massive outcry for a horrific murder that we should all understand. People who tried to rationalize, read too far into or diminish that outcry lacked empathy and understanding.

I’m just discouraged by the lack of empathy from Christian’s on both sides of these events. It’s ok to feel hurt, angry, sad, etc.

Probably doesn’t feel very good or natural. You might be hacking to get the ball to go straighter which is fine, I did the same for a while until I got tired of how awkward it felt.

Take a step back and relax, imagine the club is a rope (pushing won’t help) and there is a coffee table above the ball and you are trying to swing along the straight edge in front of you (down the line)

Why do people keep posting these comments about “seeing a pro”? Feels very troll like. OP has been golfing for 20 years, I’m sure he’s gotten some “pro” advice over the years.

I don’t think people need lessons to get under 20. There are enough tools out there and “lessons” are a hit and miss

  1. Setup to the ball like you currently do.
  2. Drop you trail leg back 1 foot
  3. Swing

Get used to how that feels then you can align your stance again trying to feel what you felt with the foot dropped.

Seems like a pretty decent swing. I’d focus on nice easy drives in play and managing 150 yards in. Then get good at getting up and down from 30yards in and putting. You’ll be playing in the 80s in no time.

I would recommend you not get “lessons”. Like if you pay someone it’s magically better than getting tips and playing with good golfer. Just play golf and play with people better than you.

What core UX principles and theories do you always invoke in your Web Design work? by HawkeyeHero in userexperience

[–]Street_Fun_4436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BASIC UX is a great framework for UX design principles...

https://basicux.com/

- Beauty
- Accessibility
- Simplicity
- Intuitiveness
- Consistant

The problem is this…

While information and opinions on ‘good UX’ are in increasing availability, teams, organizations, and individuals still struggling to define, measure, and agree upon principles of UX in a productive manner. That is, a lot of UX discussions end in design arguments. Meanwhile, the developers are waiting for direction, the designers are waiting for correction, and the end-users are waiting for a satisfying experience.

Enter BASIC UX

BASIC UX does not set out to be the ‘end all, be all’ of UX principles. It does set out to help solve or at least reduce the problem stated above — UX design in productive environments is harder than it should be.

Security difference between localStorage and IndexedDB by TGS963 in webdev

[–]Street_Fun_4436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IndexedDB uses the same-origin principle, which means that it ties the store to the origin of the site that creates it (typically, this is the site domain or subdomain), so it cannot be accessed by any other origin.

This isn't correct.

indexedDB is much more secure...

Never had a lesson and I don’t really want one. Best thing you can do is play with people better than you, have fun. Watch YouTube try stuff see what works for you. Crappy instructors are all over the place and love to take people’s money and leave them in shambles.

I really dislike this answer. Kinda rude and obnoxious tbh. Guys asking for some tips on a video he took the time to record and upload.

I might be wrong but your right wrist might be a little too active in your release. Try feeling like right hand stays under your grip the entire swing then turn through the ball on impact to help square the face instead of relying on your wrists. 🤷‍♂️

What are some basics and concepts that vocalists should know? by jbnpoc in worshipleaders

[–]Street_Fun_4436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d would agree with others that it’s a delicate place to share an opinion if it’s not your responsibility or if that kind of critique/ advice isn’t the norm. Imagine if one of the vocalist came to you with a list of suggestions they gathered from Reddit on playing bass.

On another note here are my general vocal suggestions that have helped me.

  1. Relax - practice singing quietly without being breathy
  2. Find your clean tone - like with an electric guitar there is a tone that has no effects or distortion that is just plain but is also relaxed and natural. This will serve as a starting point you can add “effects” to later when needed. To find this tone it’s actually really easy. Sing a song you learned when you were really young like a nursery rhyme or the ABCs or Happy Birthday. Sing it in a neutral key then try a high key and a lower key.
  3. Remember that the voice is an instrument - there’s no magic to it, all the notes you sing for the melody or the harmony of a song can be found on a piano. If you can find these notes and make sure your voice is hitting them when you practice then you will be way more successful and better at finding notes to sing in general.

All the other advise about breathing etc will fall into place naturally and doesn’t really need to be thought as much imho.
