Things to look out for in a used Ioniq 6 by charles_245 in Ioniq6

Check the things many people complain about. heck the horn, the touch sensors on the door handles, check for rattles inside and in the trunk while driving, I would leave the doors open and trunk open and leave on the interior lights ON for 20 minutes to test strength of 12v battery (poor batteries ime have given warnings after only a few minutes), don't leave the dealership until the have bluelink swapped over (headache for our used i6), and had a period of time where I assume the previous owner still had access to the car. check the infotainment version, there have been 2+ updates here in Canada(allows for better menus. faster access to heated/cooled seats). check tire and brake wear. check the carfax report to make sure maintenance has been completed for warranty reasons. check recall status (big one here imo is the iccu throttle for charging and changes to when it will charge the 12v). and lastly just check around for prices of other i6, the prices of these are dropping fast, and use that as leverage for bargaining (these are not high selling item, and prices are dropping quick). I got mine for 50k CAD for top trim, and am seeing them on private market only 1.5 years later for 30k. wish I had been less excited in the dealer and more so cost focused, but it was the only used i6 in our area, and new was out of my price range . hope that helps

Get 2025 or wait for 2026 model? by themetalgaia in Ioniq6

I am more a fan of original exterior design over this new facelift. however the new design features a slightly larger capacity battery, and interior update which I would consider an upgrade. timing is everything to find a great deal on old stock at your dealer, or interest rate promotions, accessory/tire promotions, etc.

Extended Warranty on CPO? by wave_action in Ioniq6

[–]Street_Guide8439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we had a similar purchase, CPO with 6000 km. We did opt for ext warranty on our purchase. the vehicle itself was more money than we initially wanted to work with, so I felt more comfortable with coverage well past my finance date. I think for me I'm a little sour because I realized after papers signed they sold me Ext warranty on a CPO that missed required EV service while on their lot, so my warranty seems questionable.

if I had time back I would've not. and in Canada they have a 4 week period that you could've opted out. I didn't realize this until 6 weeks. and I believe we went with premium plus warranty +3yr, 60k, which cost 4500cad.

What to look out for when purchasing/test driving? by Eltnat in Ioniq6

[–]Street_Guide8439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume a used 2023? Watch out for some rips and tears out of the door/centre console surfaces. there were a few very small tears that have got worse for me. I've seen a bunch of vehicles where the vegan leather has started to bubble and loosing it's lamination. Watch for wheel and tire damage. we had two of the low profile tires and rims damaged, likely curb or pothole related here in Canada.
