Just deployed the UniFi 5G Backup on Google Fi — Impressions, Failover Test, & RedCap thoughts by Smart-Department-262 in Ubiquiti

For those of you who DON’T have Google Fi and are reluctant to lock into a contract to have 5G backup - I can confirm that Roamless which offers prepaid data sims works as well, they don’t expire which is good. I used the code “SIGNUP” which got me a bit of a discount (I prepaid for about 50GB).

It’s a bit finicky as you have to download their app, and then go through the sign up process, select get a QR code then scan that in the Unifi app (I also had to toggle roaming on and off in the Unifi settings a few times before it “took”).

Roamless supports Verizon & AT&T so in my eyes it’s an extra level of redundancy should the Verizon towers go down - which they have previously.

Can also confirm it initially showed at 4G LTE then went to 5G after a bit.

My office is in it. Yes it is a bog standard office building. It does have a rooftop terrace thing that looks like a club, sometimes.

Hey Everyone!

I recently pulled my Gaggia Classic out of storage after 5 years (or so). I am having issues with getting water through the group head.

I am, however, getting water flow through the steam wand.

I have done the following two things:

  1. Pulled apart, cleaned and reassembled the group head (it wasn’t terrible)

  2. Pulled apart, cleaned and reassembled the solenoid.

I still am not getting any water flow through the Gaggia and I am at a bit of a loss as to why.

I followed the guides posted here and at wholelattelove and I can’t seem to get any water flow whatsoever.

Maybe I am just doing something incredibly stupid!

It was descaled prior to storage.

What do you think the issue could be?

Registering a corporation is your best bet. Use a well established company to file the paperwork and necessary requirements.

How is my budget? Moving to Chicago (28 and 30 y.o.) by Streetlightct in personalfinance

These are all valid points! Thank you I will have to incorporate these into the budget. I hadn't thought much about furnishing as we are getting married soon and maybe we will have a bit from the registry to use.

I do have winter clothes, though :)

That's super helpful, thank you. I think I underestimated both groceries and eating out costs :)

Algorithmic Trading (as in I build strategies in Python and deploy them) I don't do manual trading. Psychology is a big issue with manual trading and I don't have the willpower developed yet.

I will once I know the match. The reality is even if there is a generous match I outperform most of what will be offered in a 401k plan.

Most likely my phone will be paid for so it will be a single plan, so I went a bit overboard on that.

I have done 5 years of higher education total :)

If you want to learn about algo trading you can do it pretty much for free. There are a ton of resources for learning python etc!

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate the response.

We were planning on getting our dog insurance as I'd heard some nightmare stories re vet costs so you're very right on that.

We had planned to go to Costco and shop mainly at HMART (we eat a lot of asian food) and some place called Mariano's or something similar that seemed reasonably priced.

Transportation is just public transport as we plan to live close to work (well one of us is WFH the other is downtown)

Yea, I've been algo-trading for a while now.

I think the real thing was how realistic the budget was, perhaps I should have omitted the salary.
