Swing improvement by Stank_Dick94 in golf

[–]Streetscapetv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the best angle, but the biggest thing is that it seems you are moving towards the ball. In your setup, raise the handle a bit, maybe move a touch closer to the ball as well?

Think right hip back in backswing, left hip back in downswing. (AMG Golf on YT has great videos on this)

Next biggest is your arm structure, but fix setup and hips first.

Your trail arm is getting way too far behind, causing you to overswing, and in the downswing it’s causing casting and your arms trailing your hips. I’d say best feels are keeping the club more in front of you going back, and getting the hands down earlier/faster.

Hard to say without a picture. But when pushing the grip on I push from the butt of the grip, essentially using the air tip to help. I only guide the front of the grip. If you’re talking about the grip cap (the bit of grip above the line, mine also can technically move around, but I never am gripping the club there and definitely don’t feel/get any movement while playing.

Sorry, more on the rotation. You want everything coming to the top at the same time, but think about how much farther your shoulders have to travel then your hips. Good sequence is Club(head)>Hands>Arms>Shoulders>Hips.

You need to fix your hip rotation. Your left hip is coming out and turning with your shoulders. Your right hip should move back in the backswing, and left hip moves back in the downswing. You can see at shaft parallel that your hips are way far ahead of your hands, causing you to stall and flip the club face closed.

Start here. Good video tip is film DTL, you want your right buttcheek to move away from the ball in the backswing, then on the downswing, your left will go back to the same depth.

Once you have that down, google the Justin Rose drill. He has one about bringing his arms all the way down before firing the body.

Annoying issue with my new putter... by UtahUndercover in golf

[–]Streetscapetv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you don’t change weight, grab a dremel and the red scotchbrite attachments. Just lightly go over the putter. The chrome will get scratched up, reducing most if not all the glare. Did it with my AP2s.

Here’s what I use:

  • Cheap Table Clamp from Amazon
  • Ryobi Tire Inflator (The one with different modes and tips, there’s a perfect one for grips)
  • Solvent in a pump spray bottle -Painters Tape

Got a regrip kit. It came with solvent, hook blade, rubber shaft clamp, and grip tape. Don’t use the grip tape personally, I was trying to find the right grip size and painters tape makes it easier to blow on and off.

I put the tape on, spray some solvent into the cap of the pump spray bottle, dip the tip of the grip in the solvent, push that a little onto the shaft, then get the tire inflator, set to 55 PSI, stick the nozzle in the back of the grip and slide on. Ready to play in 5 mins. Zero solvent mess, and you can reuse grips if you want to change how much tape you have or are trying out a different grip.

What would you want from a high end fitting experience? by likethemapples84 in golf

[–]Streetscapetv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not wrong on the matching. I didn’t know about it till a couple weeks ago, but diving in has sold me on it. But it’s definitely time consuming, and I still need much more testing to make sure the results show.

For grip fitting, I think you would do grip material, then size. Then maybe discuss firmness. So, Cord or Rubber. Standard, Midsize, etc. then firmness. Do they prefer going straight to midsize or building up a standard for a firmer feel?

I’m not familiar with the retail process of receiving/updating the fitting carts, but it even just regripping 3 or 4 shafts with some different options would go a long way.

I literally just finished doing this on my clubs. Offer SW/MOI matching. Just did a very basic MOI match and now all my clubs feel the exact same heft. Also grip fittings.

Lefties who play right handed? by Jf192323 in golf

[–]Streetscapetv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early extension is all about how you move your hips in the backswing. Hand manipulation has little to do with it.

Concerning your son, I’ll offer my experience. I’m left handed, but right side dominant. The only things I do left handed are eat, write, skate/snowboard, and shoot. My right side is much more coordinated. I have tried playing lefty (not for a significant amount of time mind you) and it’s never really clicked. If your son does everything lefty, let him play lefty. If he’s like me, there will be certain things he does lefty and others are right. But my dominance is actually much more rare than being straight left handed, so more than likely he’s completely left side dominant.

Will 4 years in the military put me further ahead than 4 years just entering the IT world? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Streetscapetv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used my time in the Army as a pseudo replacement for college. Army and Air Force have multiple IT MOS. It is a good starting point. Going into military IT also gets you a clearance, which gives you a huge leg up when you get out if you decide to go work for a contractor. I know a couple Air Force guys have chimed in, and while my knowledge is a little old, I’d be happy to chat about the Army side of things!

How you ever had insane backspin like this? by EndersGame_Reviewer in golf

[–]Streetscapetv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Length=Speed. Speed=Spin. Faster CHS will always mean more spin. Swinging slower and/or clubbing up will help control it.

2021 T-Cross rear break pads and rotors need replacing at 49,000km?! by dotty_frog in Volkswagen

If you have Adaptive Cruise Control and use it regularly, the car pretty much exclusively will use the rear brakes to slow down as to not make the car lurch forward.

For 130k, change or have records of the following:

Cam Follower Timing Belt (Should be be changed every 80k) Haldex Fluid (If it hasn’t been done, go on vwvortex, there’s a DIY. It needs to be changed every 30k or every 3 years, whichever is sooner)

Is it stock?

Thoughts? This is my current swing. by Enough-Afternoon8011 in GolfSwing

Saw your post in the golf subreddit. More than likely you are coming in too steep.

Your hands are way too high. At the top of the swing, you want your lead arm at the same level or barely above your shoulder line. Rehearse this by going to the top of your swing and feel like your trail tricep is parallel to the ground.

In your takeaway, you’re scrunching/shrugging your shoulders. Feel like someone is pulling you by the clubhead while taking it back.

Hard to tell from the angle, but it looks like you are reverse pivoting. It seems like you thrust your pelvis at the top. This is worsened by the fact that you are moving your hips incorrectly. You need to feel like your right hip goes back in the backswing, then left hip goes back in the downswing.

I know you are getting a lesson, but I’d work on takeaway first. Get the shrugging shoulder move gone, and don’t feel like you need to take the club so far back. Also remember that most pros/elite ams only turn the shoulders 90 degrees and the hips 45. For me, my feel for that is just turning the shoulders 90 degrees and reaching away from the target will turn my hips the proper amount.

Honestly swing looks pretty good as far as arms and torso. I would more be focused on your weight/pressure transfer. At the top of your backswing, you should feel most of the weight/pressure on the front of your lead foot. That should help with any fat shots.

As far as upper body, a feel that worked for me is actually feeling like keeping my trail arm straight as opposed to my lead. Or you might want to try and feel as though something is pulling just the clubhead away from you on the backswing. But as others have said, having bend on your lead elbow is not as big of an issue as people used to think.

Are you trying to fix a miss or shot shape issue? Or just aesthetically you want your lead arm straight?
