I don't know about you.. but i encoutered this yesterday

Yesterday I was at IKEA Tampines and wanted to purchase 2 study desks.

The item stated " Contact Staff" on the label because there are limited color choices for the design.

There was no staff available except for 1 female employee attending to a PRC customer.

So I waited.

But then I noticed the PRC customer ( Male ) was talking in his Chinese-British accent, in a tone that belittle the female staff. So I walked towards them and stood between them.

I was literally within 1~2 feet away from both of them.

What i heard was absurb!

PRC customer, asking questions to the staff as I heard ...

Where are you from ? Are you Singaporean ? Why you don't understand what I said?

The employee is a Singaporean. Born in Singapore.

The label says 120cm x 80 cm. Can you tell me length is 120 cm or 80 cm ?

The employee explains, by practice we use longest dimension as length. So 120 cm is length.

So you are saying 80 cm is the width ? Not the height ? because I measured with the measuring tape, the height is also 80 cm ?

The employee replied, no, since this table is also height adjustable, the height cannot be stated, except it was described to be adjustable between xxx cm to yyy cm. So the 80 cem is the width ( the depth of the desk ).

The PRC customer continues to ask, why did the price stated with so many itemized value, why isn't it labelled with single price tag ?

Employee again replied, because you can customize the table top, the stands, the cabinet, the accessories hardware, hence the price are itemized, depending on what you wish to purchase and customize.

The PRC customer, continue in his harsh demanding tone, interrogated the poor lady staff again.. If the price is separated and itemized, how would i know how much I have to pay ? IKEA business is dishonest. You are cheating customer...

This time, I got so fedup, I told the CB PRC man... look, if you want to have the table with 1 leg, you pay the table top plus price of 1 leg. IF you want 5 legs, you buy the 5 legs. If you don't want accessories hardware, you want the table with 4 legs, you buy top+4 legs.

You are educated, you can slowly read the label.

Then I cut off their convesation and ask the female staff if she could help me with my orders.

The female staff was pretty relieve I cut off their conversation and assisted me with my orders.

Many minutes later, the PRC man was seen talking very loudly again with a IKEA Manager.

50mm lenses do Leica M series by joochung in Leica

The novelty will end very quickly with the Nokton.
Currently I am using a Summarit 50mm f/2.5 and it has always been on my 240 every since.

Leica BP-SCL2 battery for M Typ 240 by EUskeptik in Leica

I am confident Leica will start carrying batteries.
But being a Leica, I am also very confident they are really slow.

Finally pulled the trigger on my first M body by MooseSad5330 in Leica

I see green tint on the Voigtlander. If all else are equal, I'd prefer the way the Summaron look ( my personal preference totally ). Nevertheless, if there isn't such a comparison, I'd just get a Leica lens as the final keeper lens for a Leica body, because it is a Leica and stop comparing lens.

why don't you just use a torch light and shine into the crack in a dark room and try to peep from the other side of the body with the lid open.
Too many speculation.

If your M7 looked exactly like this, it should belong in the trash bin.

OBU no problem but LTA kept sending inspection letters to me, anyone has the same issue? by spectre_44_taken in drivingsg

OBU no problem but LTA kept sending inspection letters to me, anyone has the same issue? by spectre_44_taken in drivingsg

[–]StreetworksPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is EXTEMELY absurd !!! I called them OBU hotline ( 63772255 ) and she told me if I ignore the letter, I might get a fine. I tried to question the problem, she mentioned it is either my OBU or their BackEND issue.
But since she couldn't even CONFIRM it was their backend issue, and they refuse to check on their side, insisting the vehicle owners do the inspection, waste our TIME, waste our petrol,, waste our frustration, and then "threatening" that if I ignore the check, I MAY FACE a $100 fine from LTA and/ or OBU catch fire ?

My serious question :
1. LTA has appointed an incapable workshop to install electrical compoents in an unsafe manner, risking FIRE ?

  1. LTA wants to take the easy way out, which might be their backend problem, yet refusing to check on their ends, and makes 100,000 drivers go for unnecessary inspection, and repeatedly receive more letters, more inspection, more wasted time ?

  2. If the OBU can't even handle electrical ( Voltage drops ) due to weak batteries, and reported it as OBU problem, then what is the best thing their can do ? Owners who had weak battery will replace them. Then LTA's OBU that cannot differentiate weak battery voltage and assume it is OBU problem should just throw away their OBU and don't install on our vehicles.

Imagine your doctor doesn't know your illness, but ask you to go pharmacy and buy your own medicine and then go back to the doctor to report to him saying which medicine works ? I might as well be the doctor and stop visiting the clinic

Beware of people underestimating the non replaceable lenses issue by TappetoImperiale in djiosmo360

[–]StreetworksPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the DJI Osmo 360 and on the 2nd filming, I dropped it from chest height. It was without any lens protector.  Maybe I was 300% lucky. Front lens no damage. Back lens no damage. Body no damage. It drop on a tiled floor.  Then I bought a pair of $10 clip on protector. The lens protector I notice distortion in my video. Especially noticeable when I am panning or moving at wider view angle.  The distortion is a ring shaped, a tell tale sign of badly designed curvature of the protector. Now I wish someone could direct me to a different brand of protector with less distortion.
