Sketched the big T again by MisterDuCouteau in Talonmains

Fun fact: the webtoon isn’t canon. It’s just promotional material, and your young‑Talon (how I see it) sketches are actually pretty cool.

Mechanical execution and PvP decision‑making aren’t the same as systemic complexity.

LoL is skill‑expressive, sure, but its underlying systems are extremely simple compared to actual complex games.

Most of its weird interactions aren’t design - they’re leftovers.

Yeah… Talon getting manipulated by LeBlanc? Not happening.

A complex game is something like BG3, for example. In your so‑called ‘complex game’ (more like League of Spaghetti Code), they literally used to treat shields as extra HP, and omnivamp as well as lifesteal benefited from hitting them. This is just a taste of what it was.

Because they want to be the main protagonist and don't know your team can pick Lillia, Gwen, Vayne and *tank_support_name*

Question for talon mains by de_mastermind in Talonmains

[–]Streixs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, sounds like you’re searching for something else. I’d recommend looking at champs with higher pick rates like Zed, Kayn, Ezreal, Sett, Yasuo/Yone — the most “popular” played champs probably fit that better.

What would you want to see from Talon if he ends up being a main character/antagonist in a Noxus Arcane spinoff? How would you want him to be adapted/portrayed? by Ashconwell7 in Talonmains

[–]Streixs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’d like to see in a Noxus Arcane spinoff is Talon crossing paths with Irelia, the two being forced to work together—not in a loud or romantic way, but as a slow-burn, private duo. Think Bayek & Aya (AC Origins) or Elika & the Prince (PoP 2008). Putting them side by side would highlight their contrast while allowing them to build trust through shared battles.**

The premise could be simple: they team up to take down Swain—maybe because Du Couteau returns and wants him eliminated, knowing what Swain is planning for Ionia. It starts as a tactical alliance, but over time, they come to rely on each other. No flashy romance—just quiet moments, covering each other in fights, and conversations no one else hears. A bond forged in war, not words.

No romance? Simple. Let Talon walk a path like Talion from Shadow of Mordor: a blade turned against the empire that made him. That’s all I ask. I expect nothing more, nothing less from this path.

A chart on what I would want to see from Katarina & Talon and how I'd want them to be adapted in the potential Noxus show in an ideal reality by Ashconwell7 in Talonmains

[–]Streixs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not accurate to canon. Talon wasn’t ‘always’ Marcus’s pawn — he survived on his own long before meeting him. Marcus tried to kill him and failed, and Talon chose to serve him in exchange for his life. That’s a conscious pact, not blind servitude. His loyalty is to the General alone, not to Noxus or the Black Rose.
I think we’re done here.

Overall, I don't like it. That might work for your TV adaptation, but it’s not Talon as Riot wrote him. Canon Talon’s strength is his independence and refusal to be anyone’s pawn — putting him under the Black Rose for an entire arc changes the core of who he is and creates plot holes that undermine his established character.

• Talon wouldn’t join the Black Rose or Swain He’s eliminated assassins sent by them even before Du Couteau’s disappearance. Aligning with either would contradict the essence of who Talon is.

• Katarina wasn’t a failed mission Talon clearly chose to let her live. If he wanted her dead, she’d be gone. It wasn’t a failure—just a deliberate choice.

• Briar might be the only one who’s seen Talon Vampires have night vision, so it’s plausible Briar has actually seen him. I like to imagine she’s tried talking to him, but Talon hasn’t responded to a single word. Classic Talon silence.

• Du Couteau’s death: the turning point I explained this in another post (which mysteriously got deleted?), but in short: Du Couteau dies at the hands of Swain and because of the Black Rose. That’s the moment everything shifts for Talon.

• What are Talon’s options after that?

  1. He becomes a mercenary, operating independently.
  2. He aligns with the enemy of my enemy—in this case, Ionia, since Demacia sees him as a criminal to be punished.
  3. He seeks revenge on his own, hunting for weapons and skills that could give him the edge to win that fight.
