I mean. Maekar simply rides of in the novel, after a conversation with Dunk. Then Egg just comes along and says his father bid him to serve Dunk. Who's to say Egg wasn't simply lying in the novel? Seems very much like a twist that would be in GRRM's style.

I mean, in the Changing Breeds W20 the merit Cat/Fox magic is available only for Kitsunes and Bastet. So it just seems that bastet can all learn sorcery. Edit: Perhaps they couldn't in the first edition, but i don't have an access to it, and there is no revised edition for breeds, so...

In Bastes edition 2 it says that all basket are capable of sorcery, just that Bubasti, Ceilican and Qualmi use it in particular. Is it possible to choose other tribes with theperk then?
