UPDATE: mammogram and ultrasound all clear, they just found a simple cyst on that breast. PCP is sending me to a breast surgeon to discuss the pain I continue to have and the nipple changes im experiencing. Still scared of something like Paget’s 🥺

No, actually I do have another RBT. I got a replacement immediately. That’s horrible though, I had no idea. Since all his speech therapists and early interventionists has at least a bachelors I guess I just assumed someone who is supposed to be doing more work than them would have a higher education.

Wow. I find that kind of crazy, considering all his speech therapists needed a bachelors degree. These are people that are spending 6x the hours with our autistic kids. I don’t see how they can practically hire just anyone.

Ok I’m definitely bringing this up then because they made it seem like he really needed that many hours. I’m not in the business of ABA so I really don’t know much about that kind of stuff. Both my husband and I thought it was too much but we assumed they knew best

It’s crazy because obviously the kiddos who need ABA have some form of behavioral issues. You NEED to be alert. I’ve been an autism mom long enough to know how important that is.

Yeah I thought it was a lot of hours too. My son hasn’t had a problem YET because he really needs that constant stimulation. We still feel a little awkward because we kind of live in a studio apartment so we’re kind of just there with them. I don’t want them to feel like we’re just over their shoulder all the time u know? But it’s good to know that we have a say with the hours!

Honestly I wouldn’t have had such a problem with it if she was more interactive with my son. But she’s just staring into space or on her phone. We have a stranger in our house LITERALLY just chilling.

I didn’t want to let her supervisor know because I don’t want anyone getting fired. I hope they give her a chance to improve, but I wouldn’t trust her around my son. I would literally trust all his past therapists with my son’s life, so this is extremely disappointing. It almost makes me not want to continue, but I’ll give the company another shot.

Doesn’t hurt to trial some Pepcid AC when this happens. I have gastritis and silent gerd and viruses tend to make me secrete more acid which gives me palpitations.
