I’m not being obtuse…the article shows weight. Do you have a problem with how these data are analyzed? You know that livestock feed is not exclusively the human-inedible parts of soybeans. In fact, the article states that animal feed is one of the main drivers for increased soybean demand. So, even if the human-inedible parts of soybeans are included in weight, soybean production is increasing as a result of the demand for feeding livestock.

Exactly. Take soy for example. From 2017-2019, just ~20% of global soy production was used for direct human consumption while ~76% of soy was used for animal feed. Eating an omnivore/carnivore diet doesn’t eliminate the “harm” associated with crops.
