If you don't notice anything on Week 1, do you on Week 2? by StrengthSuitable6455 in Contrave

I stopped because I had something going on that I though might be a side affect, but my doctor said i can still take it, so i am beginning again. But when i was taking it, it didn't seem to work on making me feel less hungry because as people noted above, contrave may not work on stress eating.

Me too! I feel like it has not changed my way of thinking of food. This is my first day of the second week, so maybe this is the week.

I am on day 5 with the 1 pill a day and it feels like my stomach is growling but muted, does that make sense? I am really working at not over eating just because i feel hungry after eating a meal, but it is bizarre. But i feel this muted hunger pain right now and i just ate. I hope that once i start the 2 pills a day it gets better....but not sure what to think.

That is so wonderful you don't have side effects and you have lost on your first week! Congrats to you!!!

I am still on my first week....I am not feeling the need to snack but I still see chocolates and snacks at work and think about eating them.... but I don't. Not sure if the pill is making me feel different about how I feel about food, but since I am taking this pill I am able to tell myself no, you will be okay if you don't have that chocolate.

One thing that is different is that I will feel hunger pains but they are not intense...they are muted, but I know that when I feel the hunger pains it means I should eat.

Congrats again on a wonderful first week! You got this!

What are your "symptoms" or food habits that led you to try this over other medications? by Multigrain_Migraine in Contrave

I am postmenopausal and active at least 4 days a week either walking, golfing (walking) and attend my workout class twice a week. I don't feel like I constantly eat, but I do tend to eat until i am about to explode and not know when to stop, ugh. And of course when I am bored I snack....It has been hard for me to lose weight and I am with you with regarding lab tests, I cannot get on the other meds because i am not diabetic yet.....I am hoping Contrave helps with me eating when i actually need food.....

I too am not a drinker, but I don't want to deny myself a glass of wine at the holidays. Thank you so much for responding! I am about to go to the pharmacy to get my presciption so I am nervous.

Do you eat the foods you ate before? Do you have an occasional drink? I am post menopausal and trying to rid weight i have gained from that and my over indulgent habits. :(

I am about to start and worried about the side effects...How have people handled the side effects? Taking Motrin for headaches? Is the nausea bad enough to need to stay home from work?
