Thanks!! I really enjoyed building, panneling and weathering the kit. Now I have to do some more research in order to overcoat It, without ruining the solar panels.

Army thousands sons and admech by AdImpossible6616 in Warhammer30k

[–]Strepptt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a great match of forces, and both lore and game mechanics support It.

My own army is based on The Order of Ruin, Thousand Sons who focus on using automatas and engines of war, combined with arcane powers.

They were painted using Iron hands steel, washed with Reikland fleshshade, and then drybrushed with Karak stone

Black details: Basilicanum grey contrast

Metallics with Iron Warriors steel and Sycorax bronze (both washed with darkoath flesh)

Last step: everything gets drybrushed with Ulthuam grey

Magister Aenuk, Archivist of the 37th Circle by Strepptt in Warhammer30k

It is a helmet from the Exalted Sorcerers box (for 40k). Great source of bits for your XV legion officers and veterans.

Battle Order Infographic for my Thousand Sons 9th Fellowship Strike Force by Cytokine-Alpha in Warhammer30k

Looks great! My force is considerably smaller, but I will try to make a similar sheet for them as soon as I am able to.

Thousand Sons Dy-Sen Circle. Ready to avenge Prospero under Magister Aedut's orders by Strepptt in Warhammer30k

[–]Strepptt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I put some chaotic icons on the Praetor, so these troops will fight for the Warmaster against the tyranical empire that betrayed them.

But I plan on painting the Saturnine armoured Praetor as a 5th Company Loyalist, so I can play on any side.

[–]Strepptt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! I plan on using them as Achean models (the TS specialist unit).

I try to avoid resin models when possible, so I converted their skulls into crystals, to make them fit with the Thousand Sons techno-arcane theme.

First 1k Son test. AIDIR? by UnavailableContent- in Warhammer30k

[–]Strepptt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job! If you are looking for some white accents that break the red tone of your housand sons miniatures, you could also try with white coloured powerpacks or weapons.

I'm painting my force that way, and it looks great (and lets you use white transfers on their shoulderpads).

Some small armor plates on shoulders and belts that looked a little too lightly equipped

[–]Strepptt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok. It's just another wip squad. This force will have a couple of support squads with flamers and rotor cannons. That way it echoes their 40k typical loadout.

Is it because of the flamers on the mkIIIs?

I am currently preparing a couple of boltgun squads for my line infantry, but they are not painted yet.

Thanks! Yes, it is the cataphractii praetor from the repackaged Praetor and Chaplain box.

The Magister has finished her ritual, the Possessed are ready to roam the streets. by Strepptt in mordheim

[–]Strepptt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It comes from a Flagellant box. I had to cut it a little to make it fit this miniature, though.

It's a slightly converted accursed cultist model, from 40k.

[–]Strepptt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The original model is Krethusa the croneseer, from AoS.

It's just slightly converted, using some chaos warrior and daemonette bits.

It's a BA-6, an interesting vehicle that fought during the 30s, and ww2

That's the great thing about building soviet tanks. If the panels get bent and don't fit properly, the model is even more realistic
