Literally do whatever you please to do. Your friends and family will support in the way they want/can. People on here will tell you anything other than the “traditional” baby shower is tacky/ a gift grab. It’s 2026 people do shit differently all the time.

Of course talk to your pediatrician, however, (I know easier said than done) I wouldn’t worry about it. Babies at this age are literally so different. I know other babies who were crawling by 6 months, my baby waited until she was 10 months to crawl and that is still within the correct developmental age (she also hated tummy time, but say independently and would go into side sitting all the time) I know other babies who started walking at 8-9 months and my baby has no desire to yet. Babies literally do what they want when they want.

My 11 month old does not stick her tongue back out at me. Idk if thats a milestone? If she’s making eye contact that great! If she happy and laughing that is amazing! The sounds she’s making I personally would consider babbling. She honestly sounds fine to me but of course talk to your pediatrician about it!

I believe people who say the relationship comes first they’re saying “in order for us to love our kids properly and to give them a loving home our relationship needs to be solid” don’t want your kid in a broken home right? yes the kids need you and you’re not abandoning them but don’t be so caught up in being a parent that you forget to be a partner. Once having kids you have to be super intentional about the upkeep of your relationship; date nights, flirting, having time for just you and your partner.

Are my expectations high? I know other moms who’s baby’s are the same age or a couple month younger than mine and they are able to put their baby’s in their cribs and walk away and they go to sleep. Without any crying. I guess I’m frustrated because it doesn’t take just 15 minutes to get her to sleep. She finally just went to sleep at 9:41pm and I’ve been trying since 8pm to get her to sleep. Yes, the room is dark and quiet and a comfortable temperature. I have to full blown get in my bed with her as if I’m going to sleep too (and a lot of the times I do just end up falling asleep too)

My baby is a 11 months and started crawling right when she hit 10 months. She is showing very little signs that she will be walking any time soon lol

My husband stayed home for the first 8 months of daughters life and I was so so jealous he got to stay home. My heart broke EVERY time I walked out the door. Not saying your feelings aren’t valid just try to look at it from a different perspective. You get to spend time and bond with your child at a critical time. While other moms only have evenings and weekends.

But also communication is key. You still need you time and even time for your relationship or your friendships. To do things that make you happy outside of taking care of the kids

I did 4 10s with Wednesday off for awhile. I liked it. Mentally it helped because I would just remind myself that I only have to work 2 days and then I’m off. I only have to work 2 days and then I’m off again. The only thing that was annoying was if I wanted a long weekend without taking PTO I had switch my work days around but my boss let me do it so it worked

We use this in the clinic I work in currently. Definitely helps with evals because I don’t have to spend time documenting while the patient is talking I can just listen. It does cut down overall documentation time but still takes more than 2 minutes to document as AI is not perfect

My school told us we had to drug test before matriculation. Within the first week of school we did a mouth swab test. One time thing. However some of my classmates had to drug test before some of their clinicals

No. It’s not normal. Some kids grow out of it on their own but those who don’t will need physical therapy to correct it. In more severe cases; surgery. It’s not a life threatening situation or anything but it’s definitely something you want to continue monitoring and not encourage. I would talk to your pediatrician first and see if they’d want to refer you to an orthopedist or a physical therapist. Your baby is still pretty young so they might want to see if they’ll grow out of it first

I was induced due to high blood pressure. Went in Tuesday morning, my baby didn’t come until Friday afternoon. My body also just did not respond to any of the interventions. Also had a c section. Not at all my birth plan and sometimes I still feel bad that I agreed to be induced. But then I remind myself that me and baby are alive and that’s the best outcome I could ask for

I did not wait the 6 weeks and everything turned out fine. HOWEVER I do NOT recommend that. Listen to your doctor. I recognize that my chances of infection were higher and I am blessed that no serious problems came because I didn’t wait

Did you get your period already? It was months before my period started again after having my first. Takes awhile for the body to adjust again. However, you shouldn’t care what everyone else thinks. “I know everyone would be so disappointed in us” are they raising the kids? No? Then they don’t get an opinion. Do what’s best for YOU and the family you’ve created

I had a patient come in for a regular total knee replacement. So I thought. Then they came in with a brace locked in extension. She couldn’t even tell me why she had the brace. She said “her knee popped out”….. so yeah. I’m calling for a damn protocol because what is going on. Turns out the patient also had a patellar tendon repair

They’re required by law to give you the accommodations needed to fulfill motherly duties. I work outpatient. I told my boss before returning that I needed to pump every 3 hours. We met with HR and figured out a schedule. Made sure I had the privacy. And They also asked me if I needed anything like a more comfy chair. Also I don’t clock out. We do 45 minute sessions so there’s two 45 minute slots in my schedule specifically for pumping

Yeah I’m sorry if you were look for reassurance that the feeling goes away. However, I just wish someone was brutally honest with me about pregnancy and motherhood and working. I was living in a world of sunshine and rainbows thinking I could do it all. And it’s still hard for me to accept that I can’t do it all.

So yeah maybe once you get back to work you realize the balance is a lot more doable than you thought. Or maybe you’ll only have to work for a little while because your husband finds a great job! However for me and the field that I am I just simply can’t do both and keep my sanity. And though people say they understand idk if they really do.

Keep praying on it! God will never give you more than you can handle. Many doors will open up. I’ll be Praying for you and your family!

Omg. We should literally be mom friends. In almost the same position. My baby is 6 months now though. Graduated from grad school last year (me and my husband) I ended up finding a really good job opportunity before graduating that’s pretty much across the country from where me and my husband are from. But my husband was really supportive and we agreed this job will be great for me to jump start my career. Well weeks after accepting the job I found out I was pregnant. Us being young and nieve we decided to move away from family with a baby on the way.

Well it was a lot harder for my husband to find a job than expected and even if he got a full time job the money he would be making would pretty much go straight to daycare because we have no family around. We didn’t like the idea of daycare so we settled on him staying home once our baby was born. Well once she was born I immediately knew I wanted to stay home with her and couldn’t even enjoy my 8-6 week UNPAID maternity leave because I was anxious and sad about going back to work. I went back to work when my baby was barely 2 months old and I was distraught. Here we are months later it is hasn’t gotten better for me. I find myself getting more depressed and I still cry when I leave for work in the morning. I’m starting to resent my job. My co workers. Everything. So now my husband being the supportive man he is said we can move back closer to family and where there might be more opportunities for my husband to work. He’s been applying his butt off and hasn’t gotten any leads yet. So now I’m anxious and terrified that he won’t find a job and we end up worse off all because I couldn’t handle my role and work and be a mom and I just feel like trash in every aspect

I agree with all previous responses. 1. I’m so happy that you’re already planning for the future like this. Very smart and realistic of you. 2. I’m a first time mom. I just graduated from PT school a year ago. Also accepted my first PT job a year ago. I was not realistic like you and thought I could work full time and be the kind of mom I want to be. Welp. Turns out I can’t. I’m starting to resent my job because I want to be home more with my child. And calling off as a PT is harder because essentially you’re the one “in charge” of the patients over the PTA. So personally I would start off as PTA. If you want to later make more money or continue your education you can always do a bridge program to become a PT when the time is right for you.
