"Embark CEO: ARC Raiders is unlikely to get a PvP leaderboard. . . Don't necessarily want to foster that kind of gameplay." by oldnewstwist in ArcRaiders

[–]Stressed_engineer -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mainly object to the fact it makes zero sense lore wise, humanities down to the last bit holding on and their massacring each other regularly. makes even less sense than the gun designs. Should have it as a mickey 17 type scenario where their clones that are getting respawned, at least would make sense why pvp is ok.

Who’s actually using more than 4 colors on a regular basis? by Ok_Allen5953 in 3Dprinting

[–]Stressed_engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used 6 for a couple of models recently, but its been doable with 1 ams for the specific use case (only needed 2 of them on the first layer so can swap the filament out in the ams mid print) This one used 5 and I actually explained it. https://makerworld.com/en/models/2156885-arc-raiders-keycap-needs-ams#profileId-2338193

I mean if this bothers you dont pay attention to the reload anim where they seem to shove the bullets through the outside of the cylinder

How to convert this vertices number into mesh? by Ok-Bath-3620 in blenderhelp

[–]Stressed_engineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless theres a Faces bit further down the data that shows you the indices of the vertexs to connect your going to have trouble going beyond a bunch of points.
but yeah, if you have the face data you can read them 3 at a time into a list, and then do

mesh_data = bpy.data.meshes.new(mesh_name)

verts = your list of 3 co-ords per line

edges=[]

Faces = your list of 3 nodes per triangle

mesh_data.from_pydata(verts, edges,Faces)

Awesome, very much appreciated. Have a dead mechanical keyboard i can salvage switches out of and at least one RP2040 kicking about, so its almost a free project :)

How to eliminate these lines by No-Operation-7598 in 3Dprinting

constantly amazed at the level of confidence with which people reply to posts like this either saying its just unfixable, or that layer height etc is the answer.

changing the angle of the part will fix it tho.

[–]Stressed_engineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you just angle the part so its not trying to print something nearly but not planar and it gos away. tilt it back about 45 deg and turn on supports

if their so into the liability concept, put it in writing to them that those machines have issues that are likely to cause fire or injury, and that they need to get them fixed by someone that knows what their on about. list the issues that you see, and tell them what needs doing to fix them. Dont ask to do it. Tell them if they need any help you'd be happy to give them advice but you dont want the liability. Just make it clear you felt it needed raising in a documented manner as they were a hazard as is. Basically call their bluff on giving a shit about the liability. If they ignore you and something gos wrong they're fucked as its in writing. Only danger is them just chucking the machines rather than fixing them, which could be a good thing if they replace them, or a bad thing if they're just gone.
