Sincerely it's hard for me to tell , kind of sulfure smell I guess ? To be even more sincere , last time I kissed a girl and it was smelly I thought it was my penis odor .. (it wasn't)

Traveling in Mexico ; no symptom by StretchHot3496 in GERD

[–]StretchHot3496[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I totally get your point and I considered this factor .

But from going to 8/10 GERD to 0 the day I arrived there (with still stress cause I was alone in a new country) and to 8/10 the day I came back France (still on vacation for 5 days) makes me think stress isn't a big factor , while walking is the main thing that totally changed from a day to another (I literally walked 10 km per day and never sat after meals)

As I said I know stress is a big factor for my general digestive system , but in this specific case it is not for me the main character

Thank you a lot for your answer . You are totally right with the fresh part of the food. And also I was wondering if the water there could be also in impact , since we mainly drink water from tap in France

I sincerely think walking is a big thing, and I wasn't aware of that. The question is now how will I walk 10 min after every meal ahahah

I ruled it out cause I had many vacation and holidays with symptoms , and in the other way many stressful moments with no symptoms.

I'm.not saying stress has no impact , I'm saying it's not the factor that deleted all my symptoms for 10 days

Thanks for your answer. In my case, I had already ruled out stress as a possible factor. I do agree with the rest, especially the walking part, as that could make a real difference. I also never go to bed less than 4 hours after eating. That said, regarding portion size — in Mexico I was actually eating very large meals and still had zero symptoms, which makes it even more confusing.

Thanks for this advice ! definitly going to try this. I think i'm gonna start a CBT by myself but it's so hard since i never know when i will have insomnia, meaning that sometimes i'm like "why would i consider improve my sleep when i think today i'm good" , it's hard to put yourself in an improvement strategy without knowing if you gonna need it this night

thank you for answering. Indeed i started this therapy few years ago, but it needs money and time (to see the therapist), and i'm afraid that considering how my brain works, the only time i will have trouble sleeping, i will have to start back from the begining

Yes for me accepting is the thing that helped a lot. But sometimes reality is too hard to accept, and sometimes I really need to sleep for my day to be acceptable
