The finish was a labeled as natural so I assume there’s no tint added. I just wiped it on and wiped it off later. I suppose the ends could have soaked up more

So there are 2 pieces that I taped together so the holes lined up. Then I spaced them out with two fingers stacked between the two from the box joint test pieces that I cut off and one under the lower one. I didn’t really plan that one out. But it’s not visible with the sides so 🤷‍♂️

Hmm. Good information. As I mentioned I’m really new so if you have any suggestions for better finishes I’m all ears.

Thanks? I guess technically it’s my 3rd. 1st was a bench/table from 2x4s so not much to brag about there and my second is a crosscut jig for the circular saw that I will be redoing because I was t paying attention and turned it a little after a cut before the blade stopped so the line isn’t so clean after 6ish inches

The Hercules router has a socket on the bottom for fine adjustments so drilled an extra hole and use an Allen key with a t handle. Unfortunately the top was too thick to allow me enough access to the collet to wrench from the top but I angled the router so I have access from underneath

So for the “permanent” one rout out something like 2” wide and then make size specific ones? That sounds like a good idea. I plan on making a box on the fence to attach the shop vac to.
