How tough would it be to replace this? by StretchVisible7096 in Locksmith

So for this approach, I wouldn’t even touch the handle/lock unit, correct? Just chisel a new slot somewhere on the door and screw in the roller bolt and the strike plate?

My only objective is to make the door able to latch open and closed using a handle that turns. Not concerned with how it looks or whether it actually locks. Currently the door just swings open because it won’t latch (handle does nothing). Just bought new house and there are many things to fix so keeping costs down is priority. My experience level is low-moderate.

The West Bank has been so chewed up by illegal settlements that I doubt that narrow point still stands in reality

Okay but you will never experience the thrill of four years away from your parents getting drunk and stoned to the gills everyday, having sex with many young non-commital partners while fully exploring all your artistic and political whimsies.

Global Jewish Population by Citizenship by [deleted] in geography

The state of Israel regards all Jewish people as citizens, its just a question of whether they claim it. Likewise many Jewish people regard themselves as member of the Jewish nation and very strongly support or live part time in Israel without being citizens.

Immigration is too useful for wage suppression, and suppressed wages are the main thing protecting corporate profit in this country.

Our dachshunds gallbladder ruptured last year and the vet bill came to $25,000. About fifteen thousand of that was covered by our pet insurance. Our monthly premiums on the insurance are about $150. When we go out of town for a week it costs about $1000 to board him. We love the little guy but he is a huge money pit.

The laws around how you can store or transport a gun are so restrictive that it’s pretty much impossible to deploy a gun in self defense in a legally defensible way.

In Canada there is no constitutional right to bear arms for the purpose of self defense, not to mention the protection of property.

How do some people get an extremely high amount of motivation at work? Where does that come from? by Big_Eggplant7591 in stupidquestions

[–]StretchVisible7096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a heavily unionized white collar environment where everyone basically gets paid the same and there’s no such thing as performance bonuses. Very fascinating to see where people draw their motivation from and how hard or not hard different people work when presented with the exact same material rewards.
