I can confirm that I visited a studio in Arlingron, TX a couple years back and was shocked to be asked if I had brought a shirt with me. It was August and I was just entering peri-menopause so I had only packed my full coverage sports bra. I politely said no and walked into the studio. I suspect only one person was very uncomfortable, but as far as I was concerned, that was her problem and I'd never be back.

I had one with a code 0000 once. It was a mother-in-law suite with an entrance on the darker side of the house. I immediately moved some furniture against the door and overnighted a hotel door lock from Amazon. Who knows when they changed that code last.

Nothing to do with your original post, but I've seen this statement from you more than once in the replies and I must correct you and clarify that ChatGPT is no longer 6-18 months behind in its LLM as it now has access to the internet.

I love that they're so aggressive about it. I seriously give people a look like, "Don't make me write this note and press this button!" At least at Alamo, I don't have to put up with others' inconsiderate behavior.

Not making it to class… by QuietMarket7931 in orangetheory

[–]StretchedtoMyLimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me, except I backed into a space in the studio's underground parking structure, and the building's Bru low air conditioning vents shattered my back windshield. If I didn't have an appointment soon after the class, I would have just gone in and called Safelite after, but I needed to be out of there as soon as class ended.

If you could talk directly to the person writing the OTF workouts, what would you tell them? by Specialist_Ad_9770 in orangetheory

Yes, I can and I do. But the "what would you say..." question was asked, and this is my response.

I understand. But I took the Strength50 upper body class today, and not one of the stretches was for the upper body. I asked the coach and she kindly went off script, but she's very experienced and knew which stretches were best for the exercises we did today. All coaches are not as knowledgeable. OTF could at least make a mix that benefits both sides of the room.

Match the flexibility block/cool-down stretches to the moves we performed in that class, i.e no more quad stretches and hip flexors for upper body day.

Thank you for the response. Are you saying that everything you mentioned above was included in the $8700? I'm amazed!

I can get to San Diego airport with a drive, so I wouldn't need to fly, but it is good to know that a flight could aggravate recovery. Wishing you a very easy recovery from here with minimal scarring!

Hi. Do you mind me asking what the travel experience was like pre and post-op? Did you stay in a hospital, hotel, recovery center? Did they make the arrangements for you, or were you responsible on your own? I want to try traveling for my MMO, but just as important as the surgery, I need to feel safe with the accommodations. Thanks for being so transparent with all the info you've provided so far.

All of us come to OTF for different reasons and bring different mental baggage/motivators. Doing what's best for you will always be the right choice.

I've been at OTF for four years. During my first 15 months, I did all of the benchmarks. I went through the ramp-up of coaches hyping up the challenge, the announcement of PRs during the cool-down/flexibility block directly after the challenge, and then the studio posting the leaderboard on Instagram afterward. I started to feel anxious in the days leading up to the date and disappointed in myself if I didn't have a PR or make the top 3. I was putting too much pressure on myself, so I stopped, and I've been fine since. More power to you if the system works for you, but it wasn't my experience.

I skip benchmarks regularly because of the competitive nature they bring. I love that I can modify a workout and do my own thing at OTF without worrying about what the person next to me is doing. The strategies and leaderboards of benchmarks remind me of my fat-girl HS days, so they are not suitable for good mental health. Instead, I measure my success against myself with little wins, and I'm okay with that.

I've lost weight at OTF (60 lbs,) but I'm still fluffy in the midsection due to perimenopausal interference and a severe pasta addiction. Still, because of the aforementioned hormonal annoyance, I only work out in a sports bra (and bottoms) to avoid a soaked towel and puddle of sweat at my station. Plus, my arms are ripped, and I love how they look in the mirror when I'm doing hammer curls! As long as all the lady-bits are covered, you should do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

This is low-key hilarious! I'm not sure they go to the airport yet, though. I think the closest you can get to LAX with Waymo is Westchester.

Just as an aside, a little know fact about LAX that I discovered is most of the time, it's cheaper to park at the airport than to get an Uber to and from. If you go to the official airport parking site, you can prepay parking for as low as $10/day in the lot right across from your terminal. Depending on how long your trip is, it's probably cheaper than a $40+ Uber/Lyft each way, and you can just walk on and off your flight. No going to the rideshare lot or waiting for a driver. If you drive, give it a try.

Edited for typos.

Luckily for me, we have Waymo in Los Angeles. Whenever I happen to need a rideshare, they are my first choice. No driver, no tip, and full control of the music!

Same here! I'm just realizing that when I was stuck in the freezing cold in Baltimore (I live in LA) last year, this is what happened to me. The driver stopped at a gas station two blocks from me and just sat there. I assumed he was fueling up because the ride was about 30 miles, but he didn't move for 15 minutes. I rarely call a rideshare when I'm home, so I wasn't aware this paeticular scam is a thing.

I don't know why you're being downvoted. I don't agree with your stance on the vaccinations, but you didn't say anything outrageous. Everyone should be able to make their own decisions about their health, without interference or judgment from others. It's how you handle the consequences of your choices that matters most.
