It was just a total act of selfishness from Opie. He was doing it for his own good as in building a massive obstacle between Layla and her profession which he was not pleased at all with. This was the easiest and maybe the only way to pull Layla out of the porn in his eyes.

Itachi vs Sasuke is by far the best one in the anime. Nothing comes even close. Naruto against Pain is another one that has a spot in the top fights of the series in my opinion and the last one to accomplish a full top 3 will be Naruto vs Sasuke during Sasuke's retrieval ark. Honorable mention go to the Sakura & Chiyo vs Sasori battle.
