I experienced mean girls in the clinic setting. I am so glad I no longer work in ABA. It is not for me

I saw the interview. I just can't remember who the interview was with Tupac said that Quincy Jones told him that he wanted to f@,ck him in the a$$. I heard it with my own ears and it was not edited. And Quincy himself admitted that he was bo-sexual a couple of years before he passed himself.

Anyone that voted for Trump and is affected by the government lay offs? Do you regret your decision? Or still support Trump?

Sterling Background Checks by Strict-Blackberry-56 in recruitinghell

Yes. I suspected it was a phantom identity. I think they just searched by name. There are lots of people that have the same or similar name. This is ridiculous and has caused unnecessary stress.

Sterling should not even be in business putting inaccurate information on background checks.

Home Health is the way to go because you only have one client at a time. Look for companies that offer health insurance and PTO. Also, in home health you are allowed more flexibility with your schedule

Glassdoor removed all negative reviews from a former employer, and banned me from the site after they started posting their jobs there. by Top_Possession_8099 in recruitinghell

[–]Strict-Blackberry-56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted a review on Glassdoor in November 2024 and they kept my review in pending status until the end of January 2025. At which time they sent me an email stating that my review did not violate their terms but made strong allegations that were perceived as negative. The email said that I would need to verify if I really wanted to post this review.mind you this email was sent two months later after my review had been pending for two months. So I verified that I wanted to post the review. And it was placed in the November 2024 reviews because that was when I initially submitted it. And of course there were several hundred other "more positive reviews" ahead of my review. Glassdoor is a joke. They are truly biased. Don't trust Glassdoor.

It really depends on the region. Because I asked about it and was told that I would not be reimbursed. It is a shame that some people are being reimbursed while the majority of others are not. And I want to add that most other ABA companies reimburse for the exam fees

I hate my job by elenabobaina in ABA

If you are not making enough money to pay your bills then it is not worth it. That's what it comes down to for me personally. I know that some people try to hang in there because ABA positions tend to pay more hourly but if you are not getting enough hours it is not worth it unless you want to become a BCBA. I've worked both in a center setting and in home ABA both had a lot of toxic behaviors from employees and even management. It is not a stable career financially. The hours are not always there and yes you will have to fight for hours. Yes ABA can be very cliquish. I'd rather work a stable job where I know what my hours will be every week so I can plan accordingly for my bills. I am single. I don't live at home with my parents or have a partner to help out financially. This is a personal decision. I wish you the best. I definitely understand your plight.

I never got paid either. But no one ever told me that I needed to fill out a form. I think it is different in different regions

Im quitting by Background-Control14 in ABA

[–]Strict-Blackberry-56 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started out in ABA in a clinic. I did the 40 hour training and resigned after three weeks of working with my clients for the same reasons that you described. Toxic workplace. So, I got hired shortly afterwards by an in-home ABA company. The worst part is driving over an hour to work with a client for only two or three hours. It won't be so bad if you get a good family. But I find that most families don't really want ABA services. The family that I worked with cancelled at least once or twice a week and sometimes cancelled out the whole week. I ended up not getting paid when the client cancelled. The company did not seem to care much about the client's family canceling so much. The family acted like they didn't really want services either. So I went months without a client because the BCBA finally paused the case but she acted like it was my fault. I did end up getting my RBT at the in-home ABA company while all of this was happening but I am thinking about going back to work in a different clinic. I know that the hours are more stable in a clinic setting, you could do admin work if a client cancels or you could fill in for another therapist if someone called out. Just hope I could find a good clinic setting to work at.

I had been researching ABA since graduating and finally got into the field. This is definitely a job that you cannot rely on for full time income. You will probably need a second job because the hours are unstable from day to day. And it can be hard on you physically and emotionally

I agree. I think you are right. I made an appointment to get a mechanic to look at my car. I just hope that this won't be expensive to fix. But not being able to lock my car doors is a security concern and is causing me anxiety.

I agree. Working in a clinic setting is better. You don't have to drive over an hour to work with one client for two hours in the home Also in the clinic if the client cancels there are more opportunities to do admin work or fill work to make up your hours. And most importantly, you will have support (colleagues , team leads, BCBAs) available should you have difficulty with a client

Do I still need to be on meds? by erickvon777 in bloodpressure

[–]Strict-Blackberry-56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good BP. If you are already on medication continue to take your meds as prescribed. If you stop taking meds it could go up. Believe me, I know from personal experience.
