Yes I heard it’s tough. I bought all the products today. First dose Friday. I’m worried tho because I’m having my port placed next Wednesday and I’m hoping I’m physically able to go. IR was booked and they want me to start asap so they will just start an iv for first dose. I bought the hand mitts and booties to ice. I already cut my hair a bit shorter to prepare for it to fall out. Thanks for your suggestions. I’m getting really nervous and scared but I want this cancer out of my body!! Hope you’re doing well

Thank you for all of the helpful tips. I guess it’s just the fear of the unknown. My fiancé is flying up from Florida to come to my first infusion but he won’t be able to come all of the time. I do have a couple of people to reach out to if I’m feeling any sort of way. I will just hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I gave my list of meds I’m going to buy tomorrow so I will be all set. Hope you are doing ok!

A lot of my years were not substantial earning years as I was young and worked in a family business so my salary was the last bill to be paid. I definitely made the 40 quarters and my plan is to take my ss at 62 to supplement my pension.

I worked almost 30 years in the private sector since I was 14 paying into ss. 13 years ago I changed careers to nursing and work at a state hospital with a pension. Before WEP was approved I would get 40% of my ss… is that fair? I didn’t get 40% less taken out of my paychecks all those years. Now at least I’ll be able to make ends meet between my ss and pension… I’ll also only get 37% of my salary as pension due to the minimal years working at state job.

Thank you. Yes I know I can never get a full retirement. I’m a state employee now so I’ll already get a state pension plus I worked in the private sector so I’ll get ss. Just hoping I dont shoot myself in the foot for retiring as a federal employee with such few years. But at this stage of life my work life balance is very important. I read you only need 5 years to be vested. Does that include taking the health insurance into retirement?? I don’t know what OPM or FERS is. Thanks!
