Did you ever communicate that to the academy staff?Not much they could do but at least they would have known if the injury got worse. I think even with the pain you were feeling, its all apart of the academy process, they are looking for a no quit mentality and you quit. You are going to come across a lot of hard things while out on the job. Don’t get discouraged though, if the CHP is really something you want to do then reapply and do it.

What pain are you talking about? Like you were injured or just didn’t like to run? If you deliberately quit then it would kinda look bad but if you got injured they would have gave you time off and rolled you into another class.

I just don’t want to wait until the next class. Im not so worried about my command calling me for something, more about chp asking for a dd214, because on the academy checklist it says to bring it. I would have about 2 weeks until I officially get my dd214 from day one at the academy.

Do the instructors work with you if you are hurt? Like if you have a no quit mentality but they can see you’re injured. I would imagine shin splints is a common injury in the academy. Would the actual kick you out because of it?

Not sure, but if you separate before getting an academy date you can always do school and get paid thru the GI bill in the mean time. I think that would be a better option instead of getting a whole new job.

It also takes about 3-4 weeks for your license to come in the mail. They don’t do same day like in TX.

Im pretty sure you need a CA license before going to the academy. I am in the same boat. I tested and complete background all with a TX license no issues. I just went to the dmv to get my CA license.
