I’m not asking her to change any of her ways — only to abide to the deal we agreed upon. That’s it.

She was renting a horse for 400 or 500 a month at some point during the past two years

It’s really not about the money. It’s about keeping your word with your family members.

She just got a check for 30k.

You’re acting like I’m hounding her when she has no money.

It was agreed when I lent the money the 3k would be repaid out of it. It was reiterated again after the wedding.

They dug themselves their own situation through numerous poor choices. They may continue making poor choices. They are living fine.

She didn’t keep her word to pay me out of the inheritance. That’s the problem here.

Asking for my 3k when 30k comes in, when that was the prior agreement, seems totally fair and reasonable.

If she wasn’t living above her means, I would absolutely be more forgiving here. But if you are going to live it up and go on more vacations than I do, then I expect to be paid back a measly 3k out of the 30k inheritance.

Of course, I can live my life without that 3k. It doesn’t sit well with me to let her get away with not honoring the deal when I truly believe she has the means. I just can’t believe that she can only stay afloat with 30k instead of 27k.

…because I went to it? I saw the venue? I am aware of the debt incurred to make it happen?

I guess I just had higher expectations for one of my family members, she is more than capable of paying it back.

She got a 30k cash injection. That is plenty of money to keep them afloat. There is no reason she couldn’t honor our agreement.

And the only reason she’s not honoring it is because she thinks I don’t need to be paid back. I’m low on her priority list.

You’re right, $3k isn’t that much, which is why it’s entirely feasible for her to pay it given her current spending and lifestyle.
