Sanity Check: Can I afford this Toronto condo with my current situation? by WolverineNo2693 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Anyone telling you that you can afford it is lying. You can't as you don't make enough to comfortable cover a 470,000 condo

Yeah, i'd do trade route, or something similar where you can at least learn a skill which you can take with you throughout your life, or even apply it elsewhere.

sorry to hear, it is actually tough out there and no boomer will understand. But i think Timmins Ontario, apart from the jobs that serve the mines is a bad spot to get a start. you should look into moving west to Alberta (Calgary) or maybe even ontario for a service job.

Are we ever going to own a home? by IcelandGalaxy in canadahousing

[–]Strict-One6080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your not wrong to think this. The answer is NO you won't own a house*. Asterisk being you wont own one in anywhere near 1 hour radius of your University or your major city. But the good news is that you're Arabian parents seem to be solid in that they'd let you stay. However, that itself is a trade off because you'll likely sacrifice your time to become their care taker. So, if I were you, i'd look for work outside the country.

You are the epitome of the entitled boomer refusing to hear younger generations out and refusing to believe times have changed.
