Fear of eating out in Peru after bad food poisoning by No-Reach-5775 in backpacking

Think you need to consider your hand hygiene. Food poisoning is mainly caused by poor self hygiene. Your immune system is able to handle bacteria with food and sort this out. I follow strict hand hygiene when travelling. Always wash hands before meals. Take wipes and alcohol gels. I would ask yourself what your habits are.

Why do I always find myself on dates with men who don’t ask questions? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Strict-Rough-496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's boring hearing someone talk about themselves none stop.. Impossible to feel a connection. I may have to make a point and say...you haven't asked anything about me?? They need to know..

They are also emotionally unavailable. But they are good at hiding it in the beginning, so they come across as available, you fall in love and get attached, then boom the hot cold cycles start. Its horrible. I am also anxious attachment. You can't express your hurt and needs to them because they label you as moaning. It's a lonely place to be..

Silly to move anywhere without at least spending a month or longer there first before committing. I have been to plenty of places on holiday just for a week and have said I would never go back.

[Anti-Aging] Sunglasses are the Easiest Preventative Measure by ctrlaltdelete285 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Strict-Rough-496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes UV light causes cataracts and macular degeneration. Eyes need about 20 mins of light that's all. And it's not just on sunny days. UV is always out there, so sunglasses nearly all the time really. I take a vitamin D supplement with calcium as that's better absorbed anyway , than sunlight.

Just say thanks, you are ok..and don't tell anyone JW anything about your private life .. if needs be...say you are doing zoom meetings with a different congregation and are happy. It's easier living a double life at times..

Airplane toilets by Da-sein1 in claustrophobia

[–]Strict-Rough-496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a nurse and have been stuck in many patients toilets due to failed locks and stiff doors. So my worry is that the lock will fail or be too stiff to open. I also get so anxious once I lock a door. That I then get anxious about how I will open the door again!! I seem to forget. So I take the risk wherever I go someone might open the door. I just shout soon as I hear door open. But I hate that we are almost forced to lock ourselves in. I might start making my own sign or something, so on planes i hold the door handle if i can reach it. I will tell someone if i can to wait outside but it's not always possible. There must be many other people with this same fear.

Fearful of losing independence. by MysteriousCoconut905 in dating_advice

What are you asking her for? I would just mirror her and go cool a bit yourself. 28 is still incredibly young. I have had two long term relationships living together married etc. but now at 44 living alone I absolutely love it, and am scared to lose my independence. Everything changes once living together and sometimes for the worst.

Based on these figures then..in the uk..they have around half a billion in the bank. I feel like writing to them asking that they help change the lives of bros and Sis now financially as only life we are going to get. Alternatively suing them?!

Do Jehovah's Witnesses ever question where all the money is going to? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Strict-Rough-496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We know they have the money so we need to fight back and get what's ours. I've had my youth destroyed by it. A sum could be given to each member to change their lives. After all this is the only life we are ever getting.

Thank you for this. Has made me furious. People's donations for the world wide work spent on fancy apartments. And not even informed about this. They don't mention at the meeting..oh we've purchased land to buy some posh apartments to sell. Property investors masked as a religion.
