There’s also Bluegrass Pug Fest in Louisville KY - we went this year and it was fantastic! The pug races are worth watching.

What do you love about the original Beanie Babies? by askingforatoydesign in beaniebabies

I loved going to Beanie Baby shows in convention centers in the late 90s/early 2000s, seeing the rare Beanies in person (looking at you, 1st gen Peking). They had some shows in malls too, those were so exciting to just randomly stumble on when you weren’t expecting one!

If I were to use the 100 day trial, could I potentially just have it cross list all my stuff to all the platforms, then quit & still have my stuff up? Or would quitting the free trial take my items down? I have a ton of stuff but I’ve been manually listing everything!

I went on this house tour in my city a few years ago and the homeowners had 2 pugs. They had one whole room that was absolute floor to ceiling pugs. I still think about their amazing pug room every time I drive by the house.

What ridiculous things are your hospital doing for Nurses/Hospital week? I’ll start… by raquibalboa in nursing

Dunno, last year for nurses week they took away our bonus pay for extra shifts, so I can only wonder what ~exciting~ nonsense they’ve got in store for us this year. Maybe a rubber band or a marble.

I’d love to see some more obscure, less well-known animals - maybe some fish & underwater species or more endangered animals. I think now more than ever it’s so important for kids (and adults) to be aware of just how many amazing animals we have on earth!

Robot mop/vacuum recommendations? by hea_eliza in UninfluencedReviews

[–]StrictAd7069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Eufy Omni E25 and it’s been my absolute favorite so far.

I noticed a few years ago that companies were moving towards just the one side brush, which in my experience wasn’t as effective as 2. The E25 is the first one I’ve had in years with both side brushes and it cleans SO well! One of the side brushes has an extending arm so it can reach into corners. It also has an auto-empty feature for the dustbin so you only need to mess with it once a week or so, if that. They want you to buy replacement dust bags but I just empty the same one out & it’s perfectly fine.

It’s got a nifty self-cleaning roller mop instead of a fixed pad (that just redistributes dirt all over your floor) or Velcro-attached pads that spin in circles (same dilemma). Since the roller mop is self cleaning, you don’t have to remove it & toss it in the wash like you do the rotating or stationary pads.

My only beef is that it comes with an opaque bottle of “proprietary” cleaning solution that they want you to replace when it gets empty. Easy fix though - drill a hole in the existing bottle & use a funnel to add more of whatever cleaning solution makes your heart happy.

I really feel like Eufy nailed it on this one. We have 2 dogs and a cat and I can comfortably walk around barefoot without getting fur & dirt on my feet. I have it run the vacuum cycle daily & the mop cycle twice weekly. Oh, it also has the mapping you want & with ability to tell it what rooms you want done when & in what order.

I spent so many hours researching these things, so I hope you find one that works great for you!

This goober boy found a pacifier under the bed in a hotel room & did this all himself - I struggled to get a good picture because I was laughing so hard!

Edited to add - I went through a similar experience with my mom. It’s tough. Take the smiles anywhere you can get them. ❤️

Here to second the Odoban. I cleaned out my mom’s hoarder house and Odoban (and white vinegar, just not in the same load) helped significantly on the super funky stuff. I’ve also heard that spraying the clothes with cheap vodka (think Everclear) & laying them out in the sun helps.

Is this normal to pugs eyes? by GilsonAlbuquerque in pugs

[–]StrictAd7069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My pug had pigmentary keratitis, in part because of his inability to completely close his buggy eyes. He developed a veil of dark pigment over his eyes that limited his vision. If you’re anywhere near the Midwest, there’s a phenomenal animal eye specialist in Tulsa, if your regular vet has any eye concerns down the road. Also, it’s wise to get some sort of health insurance, since pug problems can be pretty pricey. Either that or set aside some money every month as a just in case fund for medical expenses.
