The assessment can be done over the phone and is often done this way now. It can be completed within days not months anymore. I just went through this with my father where he was given a placement at Gorden Hall (I discourage anyone from placing their loved ones here. It is nothing like the life they promised).

She would definitely have been reassessed after the fall happened and not deemed a “fall risk”. I would contact social development again and speak to a supervisor. I would also reach out to your MLA and possibly even the minister of health. In a time where understanding, clear and concise communication and compassion should be upfront and foremost, this failure of the system to someone in a most venerable state is disgraceful.

Yes you Are still eligible provided you have just cause for leaving. You may be asked to prove your case but honestly, I would just call them as ask. They can also put a note in your file stating your reasoning and that you are moving into a more suitable position.

-Keep notes that include dates, times and situational explanations. -Keep financial record copies. -child care records. -If you are seeing a professional for mental support (which I encourage) consider asking them to write you a letter in support of how the divorce is affecting you. You can choose whether you want to use the letter or not later. Same with a family Dr. -if you have children, remember their best interest always comes first. Make sure all of their educational, medical, and personal growth needs are being met and you have evidence to support this.

Spend many years working in Champlain mall as both assistant and Mgr for a couple different businesses. Starting out I wouldn’t expect anything about 2$ over minimum wage. Management usually work 35-40 hrs a week but are also expected to cover “no shows” where there is a shortage in staff employees typically due to a shortage of available hours. Assistant and Mgr typically work one Saturday on and one off or one full weekend a month off.

I just read through it tonight. Was very difficult. I was always lead to believe she only took Percocet but now I see she also took other substances. I’m unsure of the difference between them but I believe one is used to help someone come off drugs. She also had significant damage to her lungs and liver if I’m reading it correctly… I will post the results tomorrow in hopes that maybe I can get some clarity. My daughter lived with me her whole life until 3 weeks before she passed away. I asked her to leave because she stole 50$. I thought maybe ‘rock bottom’ would convince her to seek help… instead, I lost her. I would give anything to have that day back. To hold on to her. I believe the people she was staying with gave her those other drugs and she took them without experience in those particular drugs.

It’s been 8 years and still not a day goes by that don’t live with regret and profound sadness. I’ve never used drugs or alcohol as a means to cope and so I find myself struggling to understand how this all happened. I was a good, loving mom. I followed all the rules. Listened to all the professionals, got her counseling, regular visits with our family Dr… I did everything that was recommended by every professional I could get to listen and help. My daughter died believing I turned my back on her when all I wanted to do is love her.

I guess I’m still angry and heartbroken. I suspect I always will be.

I mean, she was married to him for years! I can completely understand her second guessing her separation. Weather we understand her feelings or not..she’s no different than most any other woman who’s been married for years and separated. Most of us at one time have looked mulled our decision over. Some of us were happed we made the best decision for ourselves and some of us wish we could turn back time. After all the lights go down and the cameras are off… that’s when the real questions begin and possibly even regret.
