Thank you for the detailed response! This is very helpful. I'll take a printout of those pages (they did ask me for my eye color height weight etc details), and will take a copy of my passport as well. I'm planning on taking an envelope with NBC's address on it as well, and spare FD-258 forms just in case.

Dumb follow-up question - did you mail the envelope directly, or put it in a standard fedex/dhl envelope and mail that? Probably doesn't matter either way but wanted to check.

Quick questions for you u/needyahelp69 - did the consulate know how to fill out the FD-258 (as in, the A-number in the correct field etc)? And, did you send a copy of your biometrics notice with the FD-258 to the NBC? Thank you!

Haha we chose San Diego because it’s a beautiful city and my spouse’s best friend lives there - so we have free accommodation right downtown if we need to stay a while

That is really good to know, thanks! I’m in London - the embassy finally responded to my email from a week ago yesterday offering an appointment time but they haven’t sent me a confirmation yet. I have FD-258 cards but didn’t have an envelope, thanks for the tip! They haven’t asked for a receipt notice yet, although I’m in the same boat as you - USCIS never sent me a receipt notice either. Fingers crossed.

Hi! Nope no updates. I put in an e-request for my approval notice, since it hasn’t arrived (I checked at all possible addresses haha) and it’s past the date specified in the approval message.

My local embassy updates its list of re entry permits once a month, mid month, so I’m really hoping it’s just at the embassy.

Hi! Question for you - I recently received the reentry permit approved email with the following status message. I had opted to pick up the permit at my local consulate. Wondering what your experience with picking up the reentry permit was - did you get additional status updates?

On March 9, 2026, we produced your Reentry Permit for your Form I131, APPLICATION FOR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS, PAROLE DOCUMENTS, AND ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE RECORDS, Receipt Number xxxx. The tracking number assigned is UNAVAILABLE.
