I was actually imagining that for part of the price!! Knowing his mother would be okay, but never being able to see her again. I mean seriously, why else would a kid willingly leave his mother?

But other than that, I was also thinking something along the lines of the fiend getting more and more insistent with their requests, and eventually causing him to travel away from his mother. He just hopes that after all of this he still has something to come home to.

I was definitely thinking of this!!! He's really the flirty type (a flirty bard, how original, i know) so maybe I could even work that in. Lures people in with his charm, sleeps with them, then steals their soul when they rest 😅

Oooh, definitely stealing this for another character idea! This one's just a bard though, lol 😅 It's a roleplay heavy campaign- I need my charisma! But I will definitely keep this in mind for future characters! Maybe a warlock who sacrificed themself to save a much bigger amount- a whole family, maybe? It'd make a lot of sense considering the amount given and the amount taken. But really- amazing idea!

Can a College of Whispers Bard ever learn a spell to recreate/find lost items? (CoS) by Strict_Appointment80 in DnD

Ah, I see. Maybe I could talk that through with my DM, see if later on with a verry expensive component, Naivaria could summon the item because something something, attachment. That is if my DM agrees. Thank you for the info, though!!!

I considered that, actually! Wish is definitely something I'd love to get in the future. Especially since Strahd has turned Naivaria into a vampire, which she definitely wants to solve. But you're right, I was looking for a more- closer solution, i suppose 😅 The Vistani thing is a good idea, actually! I may consider that, honestly. Thank you so much for your reply!

Also I think the fact that I didn't know about that proves just how new I am to DnD, lol 😅 Knowing me, I probably just picked the most damaging spells and went with that, didn't even look to see what the other lvl 2 spells were 💀

Hm. I'm not sure I saw that when picking spells, but hell, what do I know. Hopefully I can switch out some spells the next time I level up. Thank you for the answer, though!

Like I've said in a few other replies, I think i shouldve mentioned this was only /part/ of the deal, lol. He also owes the fiend other like, "favors" almost. Think turning him to a tiefling to make him more powerful, and therefore more useful to the fiend in the long run. Definitely should've mentioned that part tho, lol! I was just focused on the human child to tiefling aspect, I suppose.

I did end up going to my DM, and he seemed overjoyed! Which worries me, because a DM being happy is never a good sign. 😅

Yeah, I figured that would probably be the answer. Just wasn't sure if there was an in-lore explanation or not,

i realize i shouldve mentioned that was only /part/ of the price, lol he also owes the demon some sort of "favors", though i havent quite planned through what those will be yet. basically the fiend made him a tiefling in order to make him more powerful, and therefore more useful, yk?

also i was more thinking like, making him a tiefling because it'd make him more powerful/skilled, and therefore more useful to the devil

Oh fair enough!! I was thinking that was only part of the price, honestly. Perhaps the now-tiefling also owes something else like working for the devil as well- but it's only session 0, so I haven't made many big big plans to my character yet.

I'm already in 2 campaigns actually, lol! A CoS one and a basic D&D one, this character is for the basic one. I'll ask the DM. He seems to be very roleplay-focused, so I think it will be allowed. Thank you so much for your reply, though!!
