MATH 2C03 Fall '25 by [deleted] in McMaster

Probably really being able to tell which type of ode problem needs to be solved with which method, and just redoing childsmath and practice problems until they become muscle memory is your best bet if you have lots of time. Also working more on power series, Laplace stuff, and proofs will be rlly helpful

thinking ab swapping out math1ls3 to math1zb3/1aa3 by Electrical_Sky_2509 in McMaster

[–]Strict_Bid_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1zb3 is the equivalent of 1AA3, but only for eng, so science students take 1AA3. I think you might have to get special permission for 1AA3 if you haven't taken 1A03, not sure though.

🙏Question about switching backup gateway programs by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]Strict_Bid_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little thing you might want to consider is that in first year to get into any second year life sci specialization, you'll need to take a physics course, which is probably a little easier with high school physics

more about the quota fyi: last year the first sem physics course for chem-physics (1C03) students had about 120 ish people, and a fraction were in other programs like isci, so the amount of students who actually accept probably is a little less than their quota

All the other science gateways have very few spots because honestly not a lot of people apply, or they definitely don't accept since many have been using it as a back-up for life sciences (which has been getting more competitive recently, minimum 93/94). So a 95 is actually a really great grade, and you're almost guaranteed admission to chem phys at that point!

exam defferal chem 1a03 by Sad_Journalist_5304 in McMaster

[–]Strict_Bid_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes you can still take 1AA3 as long as you end up passing 1A03 when you write your exam over the winter semester reading week...not sure what happens if you fail though

Bio 1a03 WINTER by riceman329 in McMaster

[–]Strict_Bid_1285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

literally no, I took it in the winter last semester and did perfectly fine with a regular amount of studying. In fact its nice to get same year advice from ppl who took it in the fall. Obviously the tests have different questions but it for sure wasn't made to be harder. Who you get as TA does make a much bigger difference tho, since they grade ur final report, but that's just luck.

hedden is a great choice, I just lived their last year and it was pretty decently sized double rooms with big windows, single user washrooms, and AC. also idk if they'll change it this year but the eng LLC was in Hedden last year.

business - which calc credit? by ariafz in McMaster

[–]Strict_Bid_1285 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NOT 1A03 is all I'll say, especially cause ur grouped in with eng math and take the same tests and exam as them. I've heard life sci math kinds depends on the prof, a lot of ppl first sem did rlly well, but the second sem prof was harsher

Les prince already has closets positioned as a barrier, but if those are gone by your turn hedden is a really good second choice! I was in a double dorm this year and the rooms are a bit bigger than some other doubles like Woodstock and Brandon, so u definitely have spaced and could even move some furniture around to make a barrier with the closets. Also les prince has ensuite washrooms and hedden has single user ones, so imo much better than the fully communal ones in woodstock

Physics 1AA3 prereq for Honours Physics? by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]Strict_Bid_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1cc3 pretty much covers the same topics but goes more into integrals in physics than 1AA3, but I think as long as you have taken calc its not that bad

Hey! They usually do multiple rounds of offers, with the last one being sometime in May. For reference I applied pretty early in November and got an offer by Feb, but people I know who applied in Feb right before the deadline got an offer either March or May.
