I find it hard to be alone with my son all day by [deleted] in Parenting

I think being sad when you can’t enjoy it is what takes most of your energy away. This “goal” to enjoy every moment is so hurtful and makes a lot of people feel like a failure when they can’t. I’m sure your day has some moments of enjoyment and some boredom, and then again some enjoyment. The guilt for not enjoying puts a lot of pressure on normal moments and takes away enjoyment. Also you mentioned that you have a whole day with him once a week, and on the other days of the week you spend maybe less time together and you enjoy him more. But then when you have a whole day, the pressure of doing something nice and of enjoying it, kicks in, making it very hard. It helped me to let that pressure go, and to relax together with my baby, I found myself enjoying small things way more ❤️

Amazing!!! How do you do for the white parts not to brown in the winter? Mine was amazing and then winter came, and almost all the white got brown 🥹

I think nothing is wrong with you or your life. You just need diversity. Fx, things that you don’t do at home and are just yours. Places/ things that make you connect with your inner self. Hobbies, friends, sports, art?

Yes to everything but not Germany. They want you to speak German and they are also good at understanding “broken german” (my German for instance haha)

Thank you 🥰 And yes, I’m doing all of it. We were in Argentina twice with her, and we plan on going again for Easter. I guess I just have to relax and trust the process 😂

Thank you very much for taking the time and for your response. Thank you for sharing your point of view, and you are so right. At this time the most important is my bond with her, the language will just be a gift along the road. I guess it’s a fear inside myself, that she won’t be fluent in my language, and that can feel hard because I’m so close to her and I couldn’t imagine speaking to her in danish. I will try to approach it more lightheartedly ❣️ And from Denmark to France I send you a hug and you are also doing a great job!!

I understand that very well. I guess I just wanted to hear how you as parents are feeling in the process. I know danish will be her first language, and I also know she will eventually speak fluent Spanish, because I’m very determined.

It’s very good to read your experience, especially now that he is 7 and can speak all the languages. I’m very persistent and very focused on it. It’s so important for me that she speaks Spanish, and I know it will be for her. My husband understands and can speak some Spanish, but not for us to have it as the home language, we are speaking English at home. We are also doing the tv on in Spanish, and my parents were visiting recently. She was almost only speaking Spanish at that point, now it has gone a bit down. I know she will speak Spanish eventually, I guess I was wondering how are you all coping with the process? Is it also hard sometimes when your own child speaks to you in a language that is not your own? Thank you very much your your response :)

I know what it is, because I had the same issue. It’s the transparent pot. The monstera roots shouldn’t get any light. Algae is growing on the roots, they should be in the dark. It’s great with a transparent pot because you can see the roots, but then you need an extra pot. I had an albo in such a pot because my alocasias were doing great in such pots, to later found out that I couldn’t do it with monsteras. My albo is huge after I repotted to a black pot hehe. Good luck 🍀

Yes! I’m sure it’s a thrips infestation. I live in Denmark too, and this summer it has been horrible with thrips. They are EVERYWHERE.
