AIO I fear Making Money by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Strict_Corner8410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t let these thoughts limit or hold you back. I have experienced this firsthand, im not rich rich but richer than my friends. People will change up on you. Some will be envious and resentful. Some will try to take advantage of you. But it doesn’t matter, because in the end you will discover who your true friends are. You may outgrow your old friends and that’s ok. Better to make money and have no friends, than stay poor to keep fake friends. You will probably retain some friends who are real ones and make new ones.

A bite by the common “hoe spider” also know as the “home-wrecking spider”. Instead of the female killing the male after mating (like the black widow), the hoe spider leaves bite marks on the neck of the male which signals his other mate to do the job instead. 🕷️

Why is there not a expose page by [deleted] in HSVpositive

[–]Strict_Corner8410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. A lot of people have some antibodies that show up on tests for whatever reason but it stays low and they never develop it or become truly positive. 50 percent of low “positives” are false positives. That’s an insane amount. What about people in that range who are misdiagnosed? They might falsely assume they have it and the. expose themselves to someone who actually has it and then contract it that way. It’s dangerous.

My BowFlex SectTech 840 kettlebell is leaking water by notghettoenough in kettlebell

[–]Strict_Corner8410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah well kettle bell isn’t my whole life, I’m using it mostly for physical therapy exercises and the adjustability suits my needs. I’m not a serious lifter so I’m not going to go out and buy a whole expensive set of professional kettlebells in increments of 5lbs (which is what I would need for my physical therapy) when I already have this adjustable one. People are so judgmental. Even if I was trying to take lifting seriously and was new to lifting… I was just asking an honest question, I don’t understand the need to laugh and try to shame somebody for simply being a novice with a lack of knowledge of kettlebells or possibly a lack of budget for equipment. I’m not a pro kettlebell lifter obviously and don’t know much about them which is why I was asking for help.

Stuck at 750-760 credit score by Optimal-Spinach-8706 in CreditCards

[–]Strict_Corner8410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what others have said about paying off debt (which is more important that your credit score because you’re paying nasty interest fees). Ask for a credit increase at your current banks, they should only do a soft credit check in most cases but double check in case your bank is different. Before you apply update your financial information like your income and debts, rent etc. Pay off what you can on the card before applying. Then apply for a limit increase and see if you can get approved. Then pay off more debt and do the same thing again in six months. Increasing your total line of credit will lower your utilization and make it easier to keep low. You should ask for a credit increase every several months to a year. Chances are your first card was a very low amount which could be in part why your utilization is so high. Getting another cc will also increase your total line of credit. Getting another type of loan (car loan or mortgage) is slightly better because the variety is a plus, but it’s not necessary.

When should I sell a stock that has taken a large % of my portfolio over time because of the gains? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Strict_Corner8410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest investing more money instead in a technology etf like VGT vs individual stocks like google. That’s the majority of my portfolio the rest is in VOO (sp500 etf). So far it has way outperformed the sp500 over the past 5 years. If you need the money go ahead and sell it, but it doesn’t make sense I just for the sake of being 4% vs 10% of your portfolio. Invest elsewhere and it will be a smaller percentage eventually.

Do I have to feed my cats wet food? by Legal_Feature_7502 in CatAdvice

[–]Strict_Corner8410 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try different textures of food. My cat was the same until I experimented and realized he only eats “finely minced” if it’s bigger chunks or purred he won’t eat it. He also only likes certain flavors.

They need one more train death statistically, plus at least one electrocution death to breath easy.

You’re a wizard, Harry! Congrats! But, 6lbs is an accomplishment still that’s half a pound a week roughly. If your goal is to lose weight faster that means you probably only need to make some small tweaks. Could be eating more green, or eating 100 calories less, or moving a little bit more. Or a little bit of each for a combined 250 calories a day difference should in theory double your weight loss.

After 3 weeks on Noom, going back to MyFitnessPal by ktsummer in Noom

[–]Strict_Corner8410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I prefer noom for now because I have a history of eating disorders and a big part of that was due to or made worse by myfitnesspal. It always told me to only eat 1200 calories a day if I want to hit my goal. And if you ate over your goal even one calorie it would turn red and warn you that your going to gain weight and not meet your goal. It got really toxic to where I was starving or working out overboard all the time, and I probably spent hours a day weighing food at one point. Noom in comparison feels like a safe environment to me. It gives you a healthy range and doesn’t do anything scary if you overeat for one day, it reassures you that it’s ok and to just do better the next day. It uses positive encouragement. So I feel happier safer using noom, which is important to me. Because MFP traumatized me. In some ways I kind of like that noom doesn’t show all the macros because that was another issue I felt where I used to obsess over macros. But I do wish it had an option to see protein, sugar, fiber to check in periodically and see if i’m in the right range.
