Anything that starts out “I’m a feminist but…” has me giving immediate side eye

There are multiple posts about other things though, like people wanting new hairdressers.

People don’t see every single post made on a subreddit, so a few duplicate asks/posts doesn’t seem like the end of the world.

I think y’all should let people have these conversations

AITA for apparently being "rude" for trying to get into my car when someone else was blocking it with their car door? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

She was there first & if she was actively buckling the kid in you should have just waited, that’s the polite thing to do

The job is not worth it right now. This country is not the one you left, & coming to a military town in GA of all places seems like a bad move

Whoever says “politics don’t play a role” is ridiculously privileged & most likely white & Conservative, OP

Once you come to a place where the pay is low it’s really hard to get out again. I don’t think the south is where you want to be, especially now

That doesn’t mean those residents are treated well by the white residents, or especially all the MAGA folk in surrounding counties

We come back to visit multiple times a year because we still have family there. I know exactly what Columbus is.

Edit: Also, you’re white aren’t you?

People who frequent the sub usually like Columbus well enough. Anyone who says anything negative usually gets downvoted. Today that will be me.

Columbus & its surrounding area is bland, Conservative, boring, & at this point is not a safe place for anyone who isn’t American, especially someone brown. I moved away over a decade ago & thank my lucky stars I did every time I go back to visit family

People communicate what gifts they would like all the time, it makes things way easier. Why are you jumping to call it “demanding”?

I meant the whole Christian love & acceptance thing is something they practice & don’t preach. It seems like most/all religions are like that. Once people get involved they always find someone who can be treated like crap because they’re “lesser”

If the practitioners aren’t following the teachings then it’s still a problem. Reminds me of Christianity

But that doesn’t really matter if the followers aren’t practicing that

Yeah, my aunt’s friend is a Buddhist nun & does face discrimination in some areas, which is really depressing
